Civ 5 installation

Now that steam owns the rights management of this game, there is nothing to do, but buy the game NEW from anywhere but a website that does sale from third parties where you do not know if the game has already been "used". It seems that steam is relunctant to scrub any registered games and allow the free trade of used games. You would think that three parties could get together and the person relenquishing the game, could be "released" and have that game removed from their library. It is steam that has that power to remove a game. Now they may be afraid of someone suing them for removing a game, but like I said, how hard would it be for three parties to come to an agreement on the sale of a game?
 
I'm going to say that this might actually be Amazon's fault here.
If there were some technical problems, then it could be that you really received an invalid key.
Going with the refund and re-buying Civ5 is probably really the way to go.
Yeah, sad, but true.
