Most WTF Civ IV moment?

My only "Wtf moment" came when i declared war on one civ during a game on a Pangea map and then the next turn after everyone declared war on me

My first MAF error ...

In my last game I was invading our favorite warmonger Monty and his 2 vassals on a continent map and his mediveal army was badly harassed by my infantry and artillery. What does he do?
Build defensive units? Trying to close the science gap? Steal Techs?
No, he DOWs on the tech leader Saladin. WTF?
A war is not a war unless it is worldwide. My neighbour is not a friend unless he has submitted to me or is destroyed.

My WTF moment was earlier this evening...

Built a city in the 'isthmus of Panama', still in the midst of wilderness (Terra map, just starting to cross to the New World).

Two turns later, got a warning that "Enemy is detected near ... city".

I thought it was one or two barbarians venturing too close. Scrolled the map and...

It was a stack of 10+ longbowmen. With another stack of 6 LB one tile behind.

Since a galleon can carry only 3 units, the city was protected by only a single musketman. The reinforcements were still in the middle of the 'Atlantic'...
