Civilization II for iMac

I recently purchased this game off eBay and can't wait to play it. I can't seem to get it running on my computer though. Does anyone know how I can make it work?

According to an avid Civ2 player on Mac:
That website http://paulthetall.com has instructions for making a Mac patch using Wine for accessing Windows games. He does not think it will include any of the map files which loaded with the original game, however.

Ok I have downloaded the skin and am able to open the game through it. My only problem now is that as soon as it starts up it tells me ''The skin has encountered a serious problem and needs to close.'' Why is this? Also there is crazy hissing when I open the game up.

I also encountered this problem. I didn't know what to do so I just went through the whole process again: re-download and re-install the skin and download the Civ file again. It has worked for several months.
