It won't start!

So, I dug out civ 3, and when I tried playing it, it was in that launching screen and then said "insert CD rom and restart application" and the CD is in the drive. I reformatted, spent all day reinstalling all my stuff, and then it still doesn't work. Can anyone tell me what to do, cause this is really starting to get me POed.

Try the tech support forums and make sure you have the latest patch installed.

make sure you gots the latest patch, and BTW, are you running vanilla or what?
