INIT ENGINE Hang

Dusted off old copy (1.09) of Civ 4 vanilla.

Retail to 1.61; retail to 1.74.

Bought BTS off D2D (before i saw the news update that civ 4 complete for only $10, damnit) and installed.

Civ 4 vanilla loads and runs fine. BTS loads, black screen, hangs at INIT ENGINE.

I have:

set Nointromovies = 1
set all other sensible entries in CivilizationIV.ini to 1
reinstalled BTS numerous times
sent in ticket to D2D

Anyone with similar tales of woe? Hopefully someone has an answer that'll work.

Edit - re d/l BTS from D2D, same issue. Anyone?

Anyone? Makes me with no BTS.

Uninstalled everything, updated Direct X, reinstalled 1.09, retail patch to 1.61, installed d2d bts 3.19.

And it works. Ha!
