Where is the CD key located in the Gold Edition?

Its probably located somewhere at the box otherwise its probably in the instructionbook. frontside-cover backside-cover backside of frontcover ? First Page ? Last page ?

I don't think any version of Civ 4 comes with a CD key.

No CD key comes with CIV? Crazy. So I can just reinstall it as long as I have the CD's?

That is correct. BUt you need the CD in the drive to play it.
