VEM = Better Resource Distribution

Have been happily playing Civ-5 for the past year and a half using the complete mod package (UP + VEM). Recently, though, in order to try out some other mods, I played a couple of games with only the UP portion active.

Well, I quickly discovered that the map distribution of strategic resources using UP + VEM is much superior to that using vanilla plus UP.

With vanilla Civ-5, strategic resources were found in big chunks (like 9 iron), but spread out in very few locations. For example, playing on a continents plus map, I had to conquer my entire continent in order to capture the one and only coal resource.

Resource distribution using UP + VEM is much, much better = many more resource spots spread around, with each one containing a smaller quantity. Hooray - no more 'all or nothing' game lottery, where you could end up with no critical resources even if you played a decent game.
