Since i started FfH2 i have tried to play through each faction at each difficulty level. Some factions (Ljosalfar) i have found relatively eash to play at all levels up to immortal while others (Malakim & Sheaim) i dont think i have every beaten the AI while playing at immortal.

I love the fact that FfH2 is not just rock, paper, sissors and that some races are "easier" than others but was wondering if anybody else has races that they just find really hard to win with?

The Khazad and the Kuriorates (that's the boy-emperor one, right?). Couldn't get the hang of their mechanics, I guess.

The Scions of Patria civ over in the modmod section is also quite difficult.

Depends on playstyle I guess. I always have difficulties with war-inclined civs, especially those with the Barbarian trait. But I am very much a builder not a warmonger, so that's to be expected...

It really does depend on how you play the game. IMO however you play (or more likely played :p) vanilla civ, there will be at least one civ that focuses on and improves that strategy. For eg I find the Kuriotates one of the easiest civs to play. That is because I usually only bother with a small amount of cities to reduce micro and often try to do everything at once in these cities without bothering to specialise. That's the Kuriotates all over.

I play small maps and the Kuriotates are simply great for these. Does anybody else try and go through each civ and each difficulty level?

I guess that if you take some time to read and understand the flavor and mechanic(s) that comes along any Leader + His/Her Civ, you're almost always the winner, religious, cultural, warrior or whatever... (omg how broken is the Luonnotar victory, btw !!!)

AI just can't compete (and that's too bad, but that's a fact, in my point of view).
