Sipahi: Lancers already suck, and this doesn't improve its strength at all, just lets it run around not fighting more.
Dromon: It's great because it gives you ranged naval units when nobody else does, and it can be a lot of help in early wars.

+1 Camel Archer
The camel archer is easily the most powerful unit in the game. It's hard to lose a war with them even in the industrial era.
-2 Samurai
The samurai is a very poor unit. It is a longsword, which is just one tech from getting muskets, and it has a very small bonus, +1 extra promotion is not very valuable for a longsword unit in the medieval era.

I'm just going to assist in putting the War Chariot out of its misery, it seems to be even more hated than the Zero, which I didn't expect, though with the nerfs to early war it make some sense, especially since it was already pretty bad when early war was strong.

I'm upboating the Chu-ko-nu because both mid game war and ranged units are stronk as fck, and the Chu-ko-nu is mid game, ranged and even stronker than normal x-bowmen. Plus because they attack twice per turn they gain double xp, synergizing with China's UA and making it easier to get +1 range. +1 range Gatling guns with free logistics, YES PLEASE SIGN ME UP SIR.

+1 Janissary: It's an overlooked unit for an otherwise overlooked civilization that can really be a force to be reckoned with given it's +50 healing on kill, especially if you mass a bunch in reserve and then upgrade them.

-2 Landsknecht: A unique unit with practically no difference in strength, save being cheaper to make? Kinda worthless if you ask me. At least they look flashy when they move.

-2 War Chariot: It needs that many circunstances to be useful that It never comes to be used efectively.

+1 Longbowman: They pass promotion. With the buff to ranged combat in BNW they are a must.

I was playing a highlands game a pachi when i was gifted the camels. The chinese cho-ko-nus didnt stand a chance. What a massacre

Just putting the chariot out of its misery. When i saw that its promotions were useless i quit my game.

I understand the premise behind Atlatlists but I've never really been in a position where I've needed Archers before researching one of the cheapest technologies in the game. If I played on Emperor or above it might prove more useful, but when I'm playing on King it just seems like a bit of a waste. I'd have rather seen it just as a more powerful alternative, or maybe with some unique promotion, but that's just me.

On the other hand, I've used Caroleans in game and that free March promotion is just outstanding. They make a fantastic defensive wall for your civilization from the moment you unlock them to the end of the game, if you make enough of them before Replaceable Parts, and a party of upgraded Caroleans is great for assaults on far-away cities when there isn't time to go back and heal.

Panzer 18 - maybe it's just my playstyle but I rarely use tanks in warring, it's either Battleships or Planes, and Infantry from Research Labs on land, Panzer is nice tank but unappealing for me because of the location in the tech tree

Pathfinder 22 - this little guy is just pure win, I can see him win this competition easily, his ability can fetch you a fast Religion on Deity and is so versataile, he can really boost first turns of the game, also Advanced weaponry upgrades him to Composite Bowman which is just ridiculous and can enable some nice fast Domination wins (and he is quite capable at fighting on his own), main reason to go Pocatello really

I think once we get rid of three units we should up the downvotes to 4 at a time, as this is going rather slowly, any objections?
 
That's sorta counter-intuitive if the goal is to speed things up. Increasing upboats will just make the end phase, where only the Chu, Keshiks, Longbowmen, etc are left, take for fcking ever.

Battering rams are deadly extremely early, and basically garuntee an enemy capital by turn 100. If you walk a warrior into an upgrade ruin, here we go.


I've built the zero a grand total of zero times since G&K. It, and Japan in general, is that bad.
 
I decided to wait until the fall patch to start the civilization elimination thread because in the special Polycast episode they said they would be looking at rebalancing Japan and Germany so I thought that waiting until then might affect votes,

Landsknecht 12 Ok the point of this unit's special is to spam them which is fine for a little while but then you're stuck with a lot of pikemen units who's upgrade path is just rotten on top of that they don't even have a promotion to carry over to make it worth it.
