So i played a lot of civ and the greatest victory i achived every time was with aztecs. I adopt tradition tree as soon as possible and honor for culture farming as soon as i start killing dem barbarians. What happens later in the game is that i have hugeeee cities ( and very imortanf very few of them) which can produce wonders pretty fast. I hate having lots of cities that i need to manage every turn. City positioning is crutial. So they all need to be next to river or a lake. One or two by the sea so you have acess to naval units. But what i like the most is to build cities near mountains in jungles. Those cities will be able to generate massive amount of science and for that purpose and gold ( coz only way to improve jungle and not cut it is to build a trading post or a camp) So how to make ur cities the greatest? Well as i mentioned the positioning is very important! Lots of rivers and lakes, in jungles next to mountain and of course lots of resources around and at least 6 tiles away from ur other cities. Basically u have to create cities where they will harness most of the resources and especialy luxury for big cities= big unhapiness. Very important thing is to specialize your cities. ( that means that u build %amplifing wonders in cities which generate most for example culture. Also in ur jungle cities near mountains first build universities, observatories, markets, banks etc. So how to make ur cities grow very fast. Just build as fast as possible floating gardens in every city. And keep on constructing every food building possible exepct agueducts for u will get them by adopting tradition. Also fertility rites pantheon comes in very hand aswell as temple of artemis. I usualy start my game by researching archery and while doing so building two scouts untill i can start constructing temple of sie Artemiiiis. Why do i build scouts? Coz i love em. Actually not them but scouts upgraded into archers so they can keep up with me jaguars. So next step is culture farming. Dont produce ur jaguars buy them aswell as settlers. There shouldnt be any settler that u didnt bought coz thats just a waste of growth. In the beginning of the game u will get a massive boost in social policies by culture farming. So how do u start? Build two scouts research archery build temple of artemis find some city states (preferably religious so u could get fertility rites before somoene else snatches it). For social policies u should adopt tradition and open honor befor u start killing barbarians. In the begining u use all ur money to buy jaguars lots of jaguars. U should have one jaguar by each city state u know and at least 3 by other civz. Another very important thing is to steal workers not to build them, ask for tributes and trade fvk other civs (trade fvking means selling all ur gold per turn and resources for all their gold and then declaring war). Ofcourse these should be coordinated so u actualy malest them a little when u trade fvk em later in the game u can even conquer come cities. Stealin settlers is also very important in the begining coz u dont want other civs takin good places. Also never ever never anexx cities unless theyre like awesome. So next thing rush iron working coz u will need to build some cities near iron. If you manage to find a religion u should take tilthe for u will gain gold for every 4 citizens which is great. Also it is good to build hanging gardens and become friends with maritime city states. When u finnish adopting tradition u should continue adopting honor unless u wish to become peacefull ( if ur about to be peceaful u should also found follower belief swords into plowhashers) Also it is very important for u to adopt three on the right policies in comerce (15% discount on purchase and +2 happines from luxury resource), two on the right of freedom policies ( for u will have lots of specialists in ur mega cities) and of course rationalism for u will be able to buy great scientists with faith. This walkthrought will show very effective in deity difficulty but will also make u invincible in easier difficulties. Enjoy!

Basically you have to create cities where they will harness most of the resources and especially luxury for big cities= big unhappiness. Very important thing is to specialize your cities. (And that means that you build amplifying wonders in cities which generate most for culture.)

Also in your jungle cities near mountains, first build universities, observatories, markets, banks etc. So how to make your cities grow very fast. Of course these should be coordinated so you actually molest them a little when you trade fvk em later in the game you can even conquer come cities.

Stealing settlers is also very important in the begining, coz you dont want other civs taking good places. Also never ever never annex cities unless they're like awesome.

So next thing rush iron working coz, you will need to build some cities near iron. If you manage to find a religion you should take tithe, for you will gain gold for every 4 citizens which is great. Also it is good to build hanging gardens and become friends with maritime city states.

When you finish adopting tradition you should continue adopting honor, unless you wish to become peaceful ( if your about to be peceaful you should also found follower belief swords into plowshares)

Also it is very important for you to adopt three on the right policies in commerce (15% discount on purchase and +2 happiness from luxury resource), two on the right of freedom policies (for you will have lots of specialists in your mega cities) and of course rationalism for you will be able to buy great scientists with faith.

This walkthrought will show very effective in deity difficulty, but will also make you invincible in easier difficulties. Enjoy!

I spent 20 minutes to make this understandable, and all in all after I read it, it's not bad advice. :)

But stop using slack speach and make sentences to work together. Even a space now and again is very likable. :)

For your first post, I just say: Welcome to CFC and learn to spell.

"This post was heavily sorted out out by me and there will be more that could've been fixed by an expert in the English language, but at least we all can read what HE really said"

i would dispute choosing commerce for aztecs

aztecs do not build scouts its a waist imo. jags move just as well thru forrest and deal wit barbs better

okay advice, but most of it is just good general advice not specific to aztecs.

commerce is vital for it will give you lots of happiness as freedom when u have lots of specialist and if ur not happy ur cities wont grow fast. I agree for the scouts but as i said i like when i have couple of archers which can move through rough terrain makes the game more fun coz they can follow ur jaguars. I believe this advice is specific to aztec ( at least most of it) becouse u can have lots of food growth (+10% with fertility rites, +10% with temple of artemis, +15% with floating gardens and +15 % with swords into plowshares which equals to a lot). Also aztecs always appear in some jungly teritory which is good for ur science.

thank u fuzzy wuzzy for ur time
Im not that good in english but at least im understandable :)

I dont understand?

It is a saying. Basically since all the text is all right next to each other it is hard to read.

Its a suggestion basically to use paragraphs/spaces every now and then between lines.

Welcome to Civfanatics by the way!

What is good tactic in general but for aztecs also is to leave couple of encampents near ur cities so u can train ur new jaguars and culture farm. Also what i like to do is lure barbarians near city states and if they capture their worker u should leave that worker go back into encampent and wait for it to spawn more units. When they spawn u grab the worker give em back to city state and let another barbarian just capture it again. Its the easiest and the cheapest way of making allies. Barbarians prove to be very good resource in the game.

This is the wall of china.

And you constructed the wall of china in your first post.

Consider yourself now educated to one of the old memes.

lol
so anyway does anyone have somthin else to add? How to improve this tactic?

Flood plains are also good for big cities...

And does anyone know what does it mean provides a free culture building in first 4 of ur cities? Does it mean if u adopt that later like when u already have built monuments and temples that u like get oprah houses? lol

while i agree its nice to have the bonus for commerce, u realy dont have the sp to spare. ur going to be going for honour/tradition/piety/freedom/...well i guess commerce but i would say u are gonna want to get piety/freedom b4 commerce, i guess that's what i was getting at.

and useing scouts into archers is pretty nice. but very random, and far form guaranteed to get that manny ruins.

and for religion, im not even sure u are able to get ferility rites, there are other civs that can get religion so much faster than aztecs, and fertility rites being one of the best pantheons u can always guarantee its going to be gone b4 u get there. if u had a strat to make sure u get the pantheon early that would be more convinceing.

eg. avoid building a monument. first policy into honour, then go tradition into legalism asap for a free monument. while doing that build jaguars untill u have teched grainer y then build shrine. using honour+ jags to rush legalism to get a free monument.

edit-check out some of the guides about tradition policy in the stratrgy forums, will give u all the info u need about legalisim.

but even doing that ppl like celts and etheopia will beat u to a pantheon. that is counting religion form ruins and finding cs.

Long time no see! :D

I most usally adopt tradition as fast as possible and the honour so i could upgrade my units cheap. After that its usually piety but it depends on situation. After taking piety i start sparing money and adopting commerce.

The beauty of the aztecs is that u can set up our own rules early in the game. Just buy buy and buy jags and scouts. Soon eneough all of the city states will be afraid and then go on a tribute frenzy and then again buy buy buy. If u play smart u will even manage to strike fear into other civs. Make sure that u kill at least one of their scouts before u aceppt their rewarding peace.

Also the most fun part in the game is when u have ur invincible profesional army made of lots of upgraded jags and at least two archer scouts ( i really like those archer scouts :) and couple of catapults. Ur army will slice through enemy defenses like throuh butter while ur siege weaponry slowly aproaches. But i dont like conquering cities exepct capitals or good cities with 3 or more lux uries or some strategic resources.

Yes most probably u wont be able to get fertility rites but there is another pantheon which is awesome for aztecs. The sacred path which gives u +1 culture from jungle tiles is maybe even better than fertility rites for i have discovered a new tactic.

This tactic will work perfectly if u play on rainforest map or at least make your world wet. Also 3 billion years is also good for u will need mountains.Actually! If u put 7 players and 41 city states on huge rainforest 3 billion old continents map with raging barbarians and promotion savings ur fun is guaranteed. :D

U wont need to worry bout the religion at least geting one and there will be plenty of city ruins for u to discover (especialy if u just buy buy and buy scouts and jags). Ofcourse u will want to take sacred path, tilthe, +1% production for each citizen and maybe swords into plowshares but u will get religion no matter what. Also there would be plenty of ancient ruins for u to discover, plenty of city states for u to demand tributes and take their quests and most important plenty of jungles.

Now in case u dont know jungles are the most valuable tiles in the game exepct natural wonders and great tiles but if u have Tenochtitlan near a mountain and a river or a lake surrounded by jungles with bananas, citrus or maybe the best thing truffles ur capital will be the only city u need exepct one city with acces to sea and iron. Ofcourse couple of more cities in similar positions wont hurt u only boost ur cultural and scientifical development but may make u unhapy.

Now if u have Tenochtitlan surrounded by jungles which is big just think of the possibilities. U get +1 culture from sacred path +2 science from universty if u create trading post +1 gold if u get commerce +2 and if u take rationalism even +3 science. In best scenario u will get from one jungle tile with no resource +2 food,+1 culture, +3 science and +3 gold. Now u will have jungles with resources. Dont improve them unless u really need them. (Bananas should never be improved)

So ur city will be quite big and u will build wonders fast especialy later in the game. Wonders which would be great for Tenochtitlan and for the aztecs especialy are temple of artemis, hanging gardens, alhambra, sistine chapel, sydney opera house (but having coastal near lake or river and mountain jungle surrounded city is just too much to hope for). If ur near a mountain u will be able to build observatory also which will give u a massive science boost just like a public school.

So if u do all that u wont need lots of culture to get SP, you wont need to have a large army for u will be able to just turtle up and exploit jags jungle bonus promotion, u will get lots of science and gold later in the game and ull have bigest and truly greatest city and the empire in the world.
