[RFC] Ad Kalendas Graecas

do a Europe game as... burgundy :D

He's doing normal RFC (I think) as one the four unplayable civs (Independent 1-2, Natives, or Byzantium. I believe he decided upon Natives, but I can't remember.

The main downside of DoC is that it is not totally stable or balanced right now (especially the new features, byzancium and italy). It would be better to do your 3rd story on it (if you ever think of doing one) except if Leoreth corrects those before that. If not I say SOI or europe, and if possible a civ that has as much twists and turns potential as greece, like ayyubids(but the_turk did that already),spain or one of the crusader kingdoms.
Great story by the way ;)

What Mod should Krug'sNext Game be?
Regular RFC 0
RFC: Dawn of Civilization 3
RFC: Europe 3
RFC: The Sword of Islam 2

Mosher is not wrong in what he said, its just that, well, Let's say there are going to be a lot of games hosted by Krug comming up.
Well, this is going too slowly, therefore we need a tie breaker. As such I will do the breaking myself....
Spoiler The Result :
RFC EUROPE WINS This was due to what AdrienIer said, I will do an DoC run after the Europe game

Thus, New Poll:
What Nation?

Burgundians 1
Venitians 1
Everyone Else 0

First to 3 wins.

Spoiler :

Pericles was awoken from his sleep the night it happened, a frantic messanger came bursting in, trying to frantically explain what had happened. Pericles jolted up,
"This had better be important, or I could execute you in an instant."
"SIR! Avaris, it's-it's-"
"Out with it man!"
"Broken off from the Empire." At first Pericles gave the messanger a look, as if he were telling some sort of lie, but this indeed was no lie at all. The city had broken off to form its own nation. Pericles said nothing and merely sat back in is bed, had the worst happened? Was the Empire collapsing? He couldn't be sure, only time would tell.

Spoiler :

And yet, no sooner had Avaris broken off, that its Sister city joined the Greeks. Niwt Rst broke free from Avaris control, wishing to rather be with Greece, than with another city of its own flesh and blood it seemed. It was renamed Diospolis Megale, and assimilated in, but at the same time, the new state of Avaris held much control over the lands.

Spoiler :

Pericles quickly Mobilized a force to take Avaris, forces were moved from Buto to take Avaris back. The Attack was successful, but as luck would have it, the mobilization was not. Babarians quickly stuck the defortified Buto and razed the city to the ground. Pericles now had to make a choice, would he lose Avaris or Diospolis Megale? There were only enough troops to defend one city, and at the flip of a coin it seemed, Pericles chose Diospolis. The Avarian rebels should be burnt with their city.

But this was not the only problem, Horse Archers, in a move that could only be defined as Divine Intervention, took Babylon. Somehow against all odds taking out the well trained Archer corp garrisoned within.

Spoiler :

The other poiwerful cities of the Empire now saw this as their chance, and in Greece's showing of weakness, split from the Empire. Only Tyre remained loyal to Athens. When Pericles heard the news, he collapsed, and tears streamed down his face,
"I only have two...
Only Two...
TWO CITIES! How could this happen?" He held his hands into the air, "How, in just a few years, could this empire slip through my fingers like grains of sand? ALLAH! Why have you forsaken me!" But the Heavens gave him no answer. Pericles knew that there was only one thing left that he could do. He had to rebuild.

Spoiler :

The moment was right, a Plague was spreading through the Middle East at the moment, and the cities were mostly defenseless. Pericles mobilized his only Phalanx left in Tyre to assault Babylon. The Barbarians had no defenses due to the sickness, and the City was helpless. It had no choice but to rejoin the empire.

Spoiler :

It was then that Mozart, a Great Artist who had been living in Tyre for some time now, came to the City. Like Michaelangelo before him, Mozart reminded Babylon just why it was a wonderous thing to be Greek. Thanks to him, the Empire was saved from Cultural Domination, and Babylon flourished once more under Graecan command.

Spoiler :

It was around 1200 when a Vizer of the Empire came to him.
"Pericles! Your Empire has collapsed, and we fear for your safety! A people in the Far East have offered you shelter, if you in exchange leave Greece behind and lead THEM. We implore that you go so that you may live. Missionaries and Phalanxes shall escort you safetly."
Pericles gave a piercing stare at the Knave who suggested this.
"Are you that cowardly that you would leave the Greek Caliphate merely to save your own hide? You dog! I have ruled this Empire for 2000 Years now, and I shall see to it that I continue to rule this Empire until the day of my death, when the enemy is inside these walls. If you wish to go to the Barbarians in the east, then so be it, but I shall stand the test of the times and stay in Athens until the final day of this nation. Now Begone!"

DON'T MISS NEXT EPISODE! AD KALENDAS GRAECAS: THE FINALE

Venice has my vote.

Well Venice wins with more than enough Votes. It looks like it's time to get Economic. (And all Conquesty, considering the UHV)

The Finale of this Run will be tomorrow, don't miss what happens to Pericles, the Empire, and the Eastern World!

THE FINALE PART I OF II
Spoiler :

Thanks to Mozart, the Empire began to pull itself back together, Avaris rejoined as the Empire's influence in Egypt regrew, and as the west slowly came back to the hands of Athens...

Spoiler :

New Lands came under the control of the Greeks in the far east, as Seleukia Susana became the easternmost point in the Graecan Calpihate. Perciles faith in his people regrew once again, but his pride could never be restored until all of Greece was once more under his control, thus attention was turned to the reconquest of Epidamnos.

Spoiler :

First came a quick srtike on the now independent city of Byzantion, the ruler of the city was said to have started the secession crisis in the first place. Judgement was swift and brutal, as the city had no defenses to speak of after the Plague hit it. All it took was a Longbowman force to burn Byzantion to the ground for its crimes against the Empire.

Spoiler :

Epidamnos was next, as the Hoplite Army reformed itself in Athens, the only goal in mind was to reclaim the lost city of Epidamnos and unite the Greeks once more. Though Pericles would have preferred to proceed in the same manner he had 2000 years ago in the Unifacation process, he knew that this was not a feasible army. Nonetheless, the fighting for the City's control was a grueling struggle. Hoplite after Hoplite met on the field of battle only to end in a stalemate. But finally, one morning in 1320 AD, the Hoplites broke through. Epidamnos was reclaimed.

But Pericles could not even celebrate for this one victory, as now a new threat began to rise. In Anatolia, as disgruntled governer known as Mehmed II formed his own Islamic army of Turks to fight the Greek Caliphate and the Arabs themselves for control over Arabia.

Spoiler :

The Turks, calling themselves Ottomans, spread like a plague out into the east from Anatolia, wasting no time in assimillating former Graecan lands. At first Pericles tried to ignore them, but then they took Tyre, which had been a longtime Greek Base of operations. At that moment, the time for waiting ended, and the time for action begun. While Pericle's forces were spread thin, he knew that the Ottoman Armies were not garrisoned in Tyre, and were off trampling other lands. Pericles moved swiftly and organized a recapture.

Spoiler :

It was of course a stunning success, and Mehmed was left shocked. His armies were still moving northward though, so he could not focus on taking Tyre once more. Instead, Mehmed opted for a different option.

Spoiler :

The option of peace.

Yes I know the last to pictures are screwed up, that's what I get for Copypasta in paint.

It's the finale if he says it's the finale!

Who doesn't agree with Mosher?

No, they just like to destroy my chances of winning.

Dont blame me, its luck.

I blame the people who tasked me to kill horse archers and conquistadors and longbowmen and praetorians with immortals.

Well, as I can see you guys are getting this conversation along just fine without me. I would have the Finale of the Finale up by now, but it's my Birthday so I've had other matters to attend to.
