Installation problem

Hi,

I recently decided to revisit Civ 2 and am trying to use it on Vista. I've had a look at the available patches but have a pretty specific problem.

When going through the install the setup tells me that I need to have Shockwave installed and offers me an "AutoFix" option, when it installs shockwave it finds the same problem saying that it is not installed and this time the "AutoFix" option is greyed out and when I select "OK" it just quits.

Any help would be great.

I am certainly no expert on Windows, but I am under the impression that Vista is a 32/64 bit operating system, whereas Civ2 comes from the 16-bit generation.

You might consider employing an emulator program to get the game to run properly.

Also, there are a number of threads in the Civ2 Tech Support section that deal with installing Civ2 on various 64-bit operating systems. That should be the first place to check out.
