AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

I apologize for what may be a noob question. I've played ROM:AND original extensively, but I'm relatively new to AND2. But my current game - 994 (started on it) - offers no progress towards great generals when killing barbarians (rampaging).

Is that a feature?

I can't remember, but I think it's a game option you have to switch on. Barbarian Generals or something?

It is exactly the Barbarian Generals option that needs to be activated at the start of the game.
In extremis, you could change it during a game with python (instructions are in this post).

Hello!

My problem is since the 993 (now im using a fresh installed 994). The game is always changing research requirement points.
If you check my screenshot, you can see it was from the same game with a few turns difference and the technology i was searching changed its required research points...
(Bismarck Deity Conquest Ancient Eternity)

Also if i start a new game or load (even the one i was started in the fresh 994) it always shown different research points requirements for every technology.

The reason was i made a fresh and2 install, because when i did updated the game... i was at the Compass technology and its changed the turns to complete from 9 to 160. The latest Future Technology was costing 15,6 million points (actually in this new game the last Future Tech only cost 4 million, but it's keep changing its value every time i check it.).

Great, thanks for the fast reply !

That was the Realistic Timescale ! :)

It must be new or it was disabled by default earlier. Now i disabled it and the research points are fixed everywhere.

Found something here.

I was the first discovering calendar, but im wasnt able to found naghulism. I checked everything i could and it seems it wasnt founded yet. Here is the save.

My game is currently crashing to desktop on or around the 10% (240 turn) mark. I've tried it with both the manual save (crashes when trying to turn over at 2229 BC) and the last autosave (crashes at 2218 BC).

I'll check that once I have time.

SVN 994

2 Bugs or game play errors.

1. The Game version tends to be obscured by the science slider buttons, at a resolution of 1680x1050

Solution - Delete some of the ====== at the end of the civ description file. There is 3 lines worth of them, pushing the list further up the screen into obscurity.

2. Canals - You can drain SWAMP, but you can't drain Marsh????

Solution - Allow the draining of marsh lands as well.

That's especially odd since swamps and marshes are both forms of wetland - marshes are herbaceous, whereas swamps feature more woody vegetation.

There is a big difference between Marsh and Swamp game-wise. Marsh is a TERRAIN, which is the fundamental level of tiling, like Plains or Grassland. Swamp is a FEATURE, which exists over the terrain, like Forest or Jungle. Draining Swamps is not conceptually different from chopping Forests or clearing Jungle. Removing Marshes requires the Terraforming improvements that are available with Weather Control tech. I don't really want to make a separate improvement just for Marshes.

Starvation to Pop 1 - When you get Starvation to Pop 1, due to circumstances, such as Meteor event, the city won't grow again, if it has a 'Free specialist' due to the Village hall.

It won't work both the city tile and another tile, it will only work the city tile.

You need to rush food to the city to get it to Pop 2 to start growing again.

Solution - Enable growth from Pop 1, even with a 'free specialist'

:( I have a crashing game. Crashes on the next turn every time - build 994 -

Fairly early on - just starting castles - huge earth custom scenario with revolutions enabled, mega civs modules, multiple religion spread, and various other options enabled (should I include other files with the save?)

I reloaded, did different stuff that turn, hit end of turn, same crash - no message - Civ4 just disappears from existence. I looked through the log files at My Games\beyond the sword\Logs, and I see nothing of interest. Not sure what I could be looking for?

Save game:

Your save also crash my game. I'll investigate.

Thanks for whatever you can do. If there are debugging logs or some-such, I'd be happy to look through them, see if there is a clue someplace? Guess it's on to a new game :p :)
