Spreading firstly then enchange

Never thougt of this before, but now I did.
Can you spread your religion with your great prophet to two cities and still be able to enchange your religion afterwards?

Would be very handy!

Not sure.
My guess would be "no", since you cannot settle him down after spreading once.

No. I tried it once. Really messed up and I missed out on both beliefs I was waiting for
