Hello Civfanatics!

Can we remove our "warmongering status" if we liberate any cities? You know, we won't actually able to liberate cities but destroy when we play OCC.

In both, we raze cities. But, how this effects our reputation? Other factions will hate us because we conquered a city or they will love us because we liberated that city?

uhh...not sure of the question exactly. what is OCC?

1. If you liberate a city, then yes some of your warmonger status is removed, but this requires the city to have been owned by a previous civ or city state and your enemy to have captured it. Aka: otherwise you could abuse the mechanic and take/liberate cities repeatedly.

2. As far as I know, razing cities does not affect your warmonger status only the capturing of them and declaring war. Razing is a staple of warmongering because you can't keep every city in the world and stay happy obviously.

OCC=One City Challenge

You don't have an option to annex nor puppet city. When you capture an enemy city it destroys it to the ground.

Liberating cities often erase previous warmonger penalties.

The problem is you can't liberate them in OCC. If you capture a city, there isn't an option to liberate it. In OCC, capture means destroy the city to the ground. even if it's capital of another civ.
