Just a quick heads up for Linux users - it looks like Civ:IV is now officially supported by TransGaming.

It'll be interesting to see what the performace is like... Has anyone tried it yet?

Same question. I really hope it wont be slow and buggy because Civ4 is the only thing that keeps me from migrating to Linux.

Yeah, that's right. Anyone tried it? Wouldn't want to invest on the monthly subscription for a slow and buggy Civ4 on Linux. Though I have already migrated to Linux, Civ4 is the reason why Win2k is still on my harddisk.

Follow the installation instructions link from the Civ IV Wiki on Transgaming and it works fine. I cannot play multiplayer due to a versioning issue that I am working to resolve, but single player works as fast or faster than on windows.

YMMV if you have an ATI card and I have pity on those that do.
