Is there a way to turn off the MP timer?

we want to disable the multiplayer turn timer.
or at least make it longer. like 30 or 40 minites.

it seems no matter what i do at the setup of a MP game it doesnt change the timer limit. and when you have 200+ units, 3 minites is just not enought time to move everything.
i like to take my time, 30 to 40 min per turn in single player mode.

There oughta be, but 30-40 minutes? With a group of four of you taking half that time you'd have four turns in four hours! But...whatever floats your boat.

Sure. Use PBEM. With 30-40 minute-long turns, few people would be willing to wait at their computer.

first, whats pbem?
and i play with my brother and a few friends.
we go for of a cold war, massive conflict game. sorta like if teh ussr had lauched a first stirke kinda stuff. imagine moving 200-300 combat units, in a major world conflict. it can take awhile.
