I voted about 9 months ago, but...

When I was born, Roosevelt was still President, Pearl Harbor had been hit by the Japanese 2 months earlier, TV was still just a laboratory experiment, the first computer (using vacuum tubes) had not yet been built, most people still used "ice boxes" and the guy who delivered the ice drove a carriage with a horse  (yeah, we had trucks, but he didn't).

Can't say I long for "the good old days". I love my computer!!! :D

I was born in 900 B.C. You see i am immortal...I have no equal....

1978. I am halfway being young before i get old.

My dad remembers this massive artillary train being led by horses, right before American involvement in WWII, when the Army was changing to trucks. Granted, as he was only tiny guy at the time he remembers it because of the Horses and only found out later what was going on. ;) That's his first memory too.

:bump: for all the newbies!

Nice job reviving this thread, Birdjaguar! I reckon it should be STICKY, keeps new threads on the same topic popping up all the time...

edit: it should also be moved to the Civ4 section, where people can find it!

Good Idea....

Very pleased my decade won :)

:p it wasn't until the 80's won........ ^^

Is there really people 5 and younger here? Civ strikes me as a little to hard for kids that age o.O [90 for me ]

Krystal Pistol: Welcome to CFC! [party]

I'm 1960, and posted on Usenet while it was still Arpanet at university.
Yes, I did punch cards....ugh, don't remind me.:scan:

Saw one of my buddies playing Civ1 when I came back to grad school
after working a while. Glad I didn't get hooked on it back then, or I would
never have finished my thesis! Just got into Civ2 a couple of years ago,
when I found it in the $10 bin at CompUSA, and have been playing Civ3
for about a year.

I played Civ1 on my hyper-fast Amiga! It appears that half of the voters were in diapers (at best) when Civ1 came out.

73' for me. I got hooked on the games by playing Space Invaders and Frogger on cartridge with a top of the line cutting edge Atari 2600 six switch! Unfortunately my reflexes sucked. Thank god Sid Meier invented Civ!
