Mod question

I'm not super technologically savvy so I apologize if this is a silly question. Would like to know if it is possible to download and play more than one mod together? Some of the stuff in that part of the forum looks really interesting. Also is it possible to download a mod and extra civilizations? Or does any combination of this not work? Thanks in advance for any direction.

I run five or six mods at a time. Some of them require others, some of them won't work with others. But they'll usually specify that.

All the mods I use (like 'City limits' or 'faster airplane animations') work fine by themselves or with other mods.

I'd say knock yourself out.

I haven't used civilization mods but I've watched other people use them via twitch and they seem to work well. I use upwards of sixty mods. Units,wonders,religion to name a few.
You have to experiment and see what fits your taste.
