The one rule is that as soon as you meet a Civ (NOT a CS) you must declare war on that turn. It means about the only thing you can do is get an embassy to see where their capital is and then declare. There is no peace ever, even if they offer!

As you can imagine this increases the difficulty somewhat. No trades on any kind. No external trade routes except with CS’s, if you can keep them in your camp (you better not lose them or you will never get them back later in the game). No lucrative peace deals or selling cities or getting other civs to do your dirty work.

You can win by any means but domination is preferred. I believe FA is keeping a record of best finish times.

I guess these games are on the honor system but no reloads etc. I myself allow reloads for misclicks as I have almost had a city and then misclicked a unit and had to withdraw my whole freaking army because it was that tenuous an attack and I just find that too frustrating to accept-I will disallow this if that is the standard here, FA can state his rule for the leaderboard.

Only other rule is no use of the pillage repair exploit. You may of course pillage once but you may not bring a worker to repair and pillage again.

You may steal whatever workers you can.

With CSs you have free reign. You can make war, steal workers then peace etc. No restrictions.

Settings are Immortal, Pangaea, Raging Barbs., map packs OFF.

I will post 2 games/month in this series-one at Immortal and one at Deity.

This should be a relatively easy map and enjoy all the culture you earn in battle.

Nice to see a little organization!! So we now have a schedule of 1 map every 2 weeks and will switch back and forth from Immortal to Deity. You can find the unofficial rules for all Leaderboards here:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=541327&page=3

The AWC Leaderboards are a little different in that you may improve your finish times if you are defeated or resign. However, once you post up your Victory... that turn time may not be improved upon. Domination trumps all other Victory Types and Defeated Turn times will be ahead of Resigned Turn times. The other 3 VC's are considered equal however if most players agree that that the order should be Dom, CV, SV, Diplo we can implement this structure into the unofficial rules as well.

All of these boards were created for some friendly competition in hopes of creating more player support for these threads. We will be using the Honor System when we play suggesting not to Reload unless a major mis-click or crash occurs. It is on the players judgment to determine what a major mis-click is. We can not enforce if a player violated the rules in any way and ask that no player accuses another player of any wrong doing.

I should say that I am not playing these maps since I don't agree to play without pillage-heal. It's not like I use it constantly, or rely on it, it's just that my short-term memory is so bad I'd find myself doing it automatically, and wouldn't want to be called a cheat or something.

Similarly, I've started playing with no bribes on my (increasingly common) peaceful games, but unlike KB27787, I WON'T play so that I HAVE to accept any peace the AI offers me after they have DoW'd me. If they DoW me, and I can earn XP, gold, and/or cities/wonders, then I will take it. I was NOT the aggressor. But I CAN be the punisher ;)

LOL, Consentient - the punisher! I do like that line of thinking a lot. More immersive.
Spoiler :
So I blew this game too, I don't know what I was thinking, going full Honor first. Barb camps are of course nearly extinct - they were valuable in the beginning. I now have 2 into Liberty - clearly the better strat with no immediate neighbors is to go Honor open, then at least 3 Liberty before finishing Honor. I just finished NC a few turns ago, my CS alliances are wearing thin, I only have 4 range units with few promos, and my stupid Jaguars are facing Pikes. Only 2 cities on t 123, haha!

I picked culture for plantations pantheon, so culture has been really good. Sheesh, I would probably have been even better off going full Tradition, into Tradition Wide. I don't know that I want to restart because I don't much care for the map. I guess it gives you some CS advantages, but I fail to see how they won't all be allied with my enemies down the road, LOL. Plus not being able to wipe out a civ early, steal workers, etc seems like a waste of the UU. Plus the UB I guess saves you 1 gpt maintenance is all.

It was kind of fun to DOW the 3 civs I met so far - it's pretty funny to see the gracious greeting turn into extreme disappointment!

Well you always have the first pillage. I for one would not consider you cheating if you played the whole game out using pillage/heal. Especially when you are saying before you even start the game that you are going to be using pillage/heal. Of course on Immortal I do not think it is needed compared to Deity. Rules are suggested and not enforced. I think it is still very difficult even if you pillage/heal your way to Victory on Deity! However, one can understand your not wanting to play since you feel you are breaching some sort of ethics if you play the game using pillage/heal.

Either way it is not like we are lacking maps or challenges to play. I notice it is starting to get out of hand for me and games are starting to pile up but at least player interest is starting to be on the rise and we are seeing players come out of the woodwork to participate!

Thanks for disabling Map Packs :hatsoff:
Will definitely try this one. Raging barbs with Aztecs will probably make it easier but that's fine for me as i'm a bad warmonger ;)

EDIT : hey, you moved my jaguar :gripe:
;)
If you go to auto folder you should find a file called AutoSave_initial or something like that. This one is saved immediately after map generation and kept until you generate another map. Good for posting.

Spoiler :

Well, this map is much less fun than i thought it could be. I might as well be alone on a small continent with some CSs. No neighbors to actually wage war against makes the entire always war a bit pointless.
Sure i DoWed Austria and Ottomans early, killed their scouts and could even kill an Austrian warrior escorting a settler but that's it for 100 turns in the game. I've fought barbarians and barbarians.
Wanted to try Honor-Commerce-Autocracy on immortal as i struggle with this on Deity but i should just have gone Tradition - Autist instead and turtle my way to an X-Com domination (to justify the always war part)

Thanks for the map, but i won't finish it as it's not fun for me :(
