Will the AI stop spamming wonders?
Seems like whenever I play on Marathon, there's always one civ that never expands beyond their capital, and builds literally buids wonder after wonder. I never saw this in Vanilla CiV, and it sometimes bugs me to see a city with 22 wonders by the middle of the game. Leave some of it for the rest of us!

Why?
It's a prime real estate to capture after all. |

ive seen egypt do that plenty of times with only one city. once you capture a city though from a civ thats been pumping out wonders its well worth it.

In my most recent game I trapped Harald by building an early city right next to him and he began to do it. He churned out wonders for a long period of time before expanding into the desert and then farther away from his capital.
I don't recall it to the same extent in the original game; it seems to be at least somewhat successful as a strategy, though. |

Not when they're across the ocean and it's only the medieval age.

They changed the AI to make them expand less to stop city spamming. The side-effect was that AI who decide to go cultural victory go all-out and stop at one city to avoid culture costs rising on policies. It's a necessary mechanic to ensure that they actually are a threat to win culturally if the player lolligags and doesn't win the game quickly enough.

They will stop spamming wonders if you're so tech ahead that when they barely finished researching the tech you already built the associated wonder. Prepare to get hell though.

True... I've done this like twice and both times the AI built not a single wonder beyond the Renaissance until the end of the game.

The problem in vanilla and not sure if it still is a problem in G&K is that you could guarantee that an AI wonder spammers military would be under capacity and thus it was simple to target the wonder builder with military conquest.
Cheers
