You radicals need to learn to not throw stones, since America is a glass house on the verge of collapse.

Welcome to RandNES 2: A Glass House Divided! This NES is set in the wildly popular IAAR America: Write Your Own History, which is still active but a little bit ahead chronologically of this NES. This NES is set in 1928 AD, in an alternate history of America where communists have just won the national elections because of the last-minute addition of another communist. This tipped the balance of the election and won communist megalomaniac William Z Foster the election. Foster’s victory plunged an already tense America into chaos, with capitalists threatening secession and assassinations. You will take control of any sort of person in the US at the time, whether it be politician, soldier or secessionist, and direct the future of America!

Character Format (note: only fill out Name, Career, and political loyalty):

Name: The name of your character

Career: What your career is. Some choices include: Congressman, general, factory manager, corporation owner, secessionist leader.

Money (saved): How much money you have saved. The starting amount depends on what career you started with.

Income: Your income per month. Also depends on what career you started with.

Political loyalty: List the party that you’re loyal to. There are 3 parties (democrat, socialist, and communist) in addition to secessionist. The entire political spectrum is much farther left than our political spectrum, with the communist party being pretty self-explanatory, the democrat party being center-left irl, and the socialist party (the moderate party) being somewhere in between. If you’re seceding, than write “secessionist” here.

Political influence (government): This represents how much influence you have in the government listed. For now, the only option is the US government (if you’re seceding, then it’s 0), but once other governments pop up, then your political influence can rise there. The starting political influence is also determined by your career. Political influence ranges from 0 to 100, where 0 is no power, 25 is a little bit of power- ie you can advise and make a small impact on what happens, 50 is the power to vote on laws or make higher-level judicial verdicts, 75 is control of most of or all of 1 branch of government, and 100 is total control of the government.

Military power: Unless you’re a general or commanding a high executive office, this will be 0. This represents how much military power you’re able to command. This is a number from 0 to 100, with 0 being no power, 25 being indirect power (ie the ability to vote on a war), 50 is a moderately powerful military command, 75 is being a high ranking general, and 100 is for the head of the military or a militaristic dictator.

Backstory: Provide a backstory on your character's background and goals. This should be at least a paragraph or two, but it can be longer.

Expected Questions:

What’s the deal with orders and how they’re submitted?
Orders will be submitted by PM, with your spending and any other actions that are non financial, such as writing a bill, submitting a petition, or ordering troops. Roleplaying is also encouraged. The time scale of orders is every two months there is an update, and the NES starts in November 1928.

When will we know the rest of the statistics?
Once everyone's signed up, I will make an Update 0 with all of your stats and stuff. The main reason why I'm not letting you guys do that now is to prevent powergaming. Keep in mind that if you try to powergame too much with your description, I will request that you tone down your character.

You may now post!

American Territory:

America controls all of OTL America in addition to British Colombia (America managed to bully England into giving America all of the Oregon territory), the Panama Area, Northern South America, the Caribbean, Australia, South Africa, Ireland, most of the rest of Canada, and the Philippines. British Colombia, the 6 Australian Districts, Ireland, South Africa, and the rest of Canada have been made into states, and the most recent president, Stanley Bruce is from Australia (and also supports Australian secession).

Reserved for keeping track of current sign-ups.

Reserved in case I need another reserved post.

You may now post.

That's fine. Also, I forgot to put this in the main post (I added it in now), but do you mind writing a backstory of at least a few paragraphs?

No problem.

Backstory. William Halsey was born October 30, 1882 and was the son of William F. Halsey, Sr. and is a descendant of Rufus King. After the age of 16 he joined the US navy and rose steadily through the ranks serving with distinction. He has always tried to do what he's thought was best for the country and as such is quite politically active. An avowed Anti-Communist he was among those outraged at Foster's election and when the call to secede came he resigned his post in the US Navy and signed on with the Secessionist navy.

That ok?

That's fine. Remember that nobody can secede unless they put it in their orders, which will wait until I get more players.

I'm totally signing up will, write character shortly.

Spoiler :

Name: David E. Lexington
Career: General
Political Loyalty: Secessionist
Backstory:
David is a completely self-made man. He was the son of a poor farmer and has been working since he was a child, and a young one at that. At the age of 16 he went out into the world and tried, unsuccessfully, to be a business owner. He tried on several different occasions, but something always went wrong, and he knew he had no natural talent. With no other alternatives accept going back to the family farm, a thing he vowed never to do, he joined the army. He, and the officers, quickly found that he was a good shot, inspired leadership on the field, and loved his soldiers. He was quickly promoted, and eventually reached the rank of general.
But his world was turned upside down when he heard Foster won the election. He was furious and angry that the constitution had been by-passed by some sly, immigrant commies. When he heard that capitalists like him supported secession, he took his talent to his fellow, true countrymen.

Care to explain what this NES purpose is?

What's its relation with RT's ongoing story?

How it'll affect the story on S&T?

I was also under the effect of reading Nintendo Entertainment System every time I saw NES

1. This is basically to simulate a more in-depth version of Royal's story, using the controversial 1928 election as the starting point and the point of divergence from RT's NES. Since this is still November in the NES, nothing has seceded yet, but by the first update, I'm guessing that many areas will have seceded.
2. It is based off of it but I will not be surprised if it diverges a lot from what happens on S and T. It is much more in-depth and there is much more player influence on the story- every update covers only 2 months and players can try to do whatever they want.
3. It won't. They will be pretty much independent of each other except for the same point of divergence, and I might take a leaf out of RT's book here and there.

Never mind, I have decided I will not join because I cannot come up with a character.

Edited my post.

Updated the OPs with details of American territory. They will be replaced by screenshots of the world soon.

Name: Ryker Kriz

Career: Corporation owner

Money (saved): [rather have GM post this else, 999 trillion]

Income: [rather have GM post this]

Political loyalty:Socialist, Neutral.

Political influence (government): [rather have GM post this]

Military power: N/A

Backstory:
Location : The fire n ice, a local watering hole
"Remember that guy, often seen around the docks district, with the cheap suite and a hat ? "
"Oh cross eyed Ryker ? Yeah ! He is into big stuff now. "
"Big ? What do you mean big ?"
"Big as in government big ! stuff about the army, police and administration, and all that kind o' crap. He is moving in all the right circles these days. Blokes gonna end up dead one of these days fo sure."

Cross eyed Ryker as everyone called him, had indeed made in large in his life. Hailing from the stinky slums just out side the docks, he sure did know the ways around. Ryker came to realize that a storm was brewing. The lion (Brits), did go away, but they had a bigger problem to deal with, the bear (i.e communists). And in the mean time, the power hole that was created, would result, in the need of young men, or as the case in hand, young men who would be willing to fire a gun.

Ryker made deals with the ship captains, who would "for some fee" bring him cheap arms from the old world. Several posters were also seen around cities in war torn Europe, asking young men to join his "company", with the dreams of the New World, where gold could be found in river beds.

Such companies of men were often in high demand, and Ryker did his service, under the oath of loyal friendship to all parties that demanded these men.

3 years hence, Ryker Corp runs the biggest arms and ammunitions firm in the country.

Name: Samuel Holston

Career: Director of the Central Intelligence Agency

Political loyalty: Communist, anti-secessionist

Backstory: Samuel was born into a middle-class family. His parents were supporters of capitalism during the age of when Socialism was becoming popular. The economy had been hit hard and his parents lost their jobs. They had to give up their menial desk jobs for hard labor in a factory. This is where Samuel's life would change forever. Samuel was 12 and the year was 1900 when he was coming home from school. He was used to his parents not being home because they had to work hard and long to keep their lowered life-style. Then, the terrible news got to Samuel. His neighbor saw him digging in his pockets for his key rather happily. He walked over to Samuel and told him what happened. His parent had been killed in an industrial accident. A faulty piece of machinery caused by capitalistic cost-cutting and greed had exploded. Samuel was in pure shock at what happened. He entered a depressed daze for the next few years, he didn't know what to think. When he became 18 he had no reason to try and continue studying to become a physicist because there was no way for him to go to college. He attempted to get into the CIA as a menial worker. His strength, size, and reflexes shone well with his superiors. With recent problems the CIA was looking for new recruits. Samuel was among those who wanted to become an agent. After months of evaluation he was accepted. He worked as an agent for the CIA for many many years, working his way up through the ranks. His hatred for the capitalistic system finally had a word in the 1920s, Communism. In 1925 the best thing that could have happened occurred to Samuel Holston, he became the Director of the CIA after his predecessor retired at the age of 65. Samuel became the youngest director at the age of 37.

Samuel still goes out on field work as he finds that the exhilarating part of his job and does not want to give it up. Considering he is not only the director of one the most powerful agencies and he is a massive 6 foot 3 and 250 pounds of muscle no one really want to disagree with him. He supports the Union during the secession events and promises to fight for the United Socialist States of America. He is intelligent and knows his profession well. He has a tendency to use force before reason but this has kept him as the most popular director as he is also the most successful.
