How would Obama and Romney approach a game of CIV?

How do you think the two would handle playing separate games of CIV playing as America? Any wars, wonders, social policies, or diplomacy they would embrace?

THIS is a totally random, funny, and pointless post... no need for heated feelings!:crazyeye:

They'd both be telling their citizens that they were planning to adopt the Liberty tree... perhaps making a token gesture by getting the Liberty opener... then they'd secretly batter through the entire Autocracy tree.

Haha, that's awesome.

As the most religious country I have ever visited they would probably both go for Stonehenge, Piety and Cathedrals, but after 1900 will put loads of efforts in culture (movies).

This should have been a debate question for them to answer.

Romney would sink 500+ hours into CivV while in office and ignore the 47%.

Obama would open every SP tree and leave them all undone. He'd also spend all his GPT on resources, then trade gold for more GPT to spend on more resources. He'd end up with no army, instead building hundreds of workers and buildings, to keep people working while trying to look like he's not a warmonger.

Romney would go though tradition and piety top to bottom. He'd also love the commerce tree and any buildings that make money. He'd go tall and invest a lot into defense, both buildings and units. When he finds Obama and has his first spies, he'd send all of his spies there and ensure that he's doing the exact opposite of him, to such an extreme that he'd end up hurting himself.

In the end, both would be slaughtered by almost any single one of the masses who would take a more balanced approach and try to manage their empire rather than solve all their problems the moment someone denounces them.

I think both would make uneven trades with China. Silk for America's 1500 gold per turn.

Oh I know. Obama and Romney would spend all game at war and trying to build all the wonders, with the exception of the Apollo Project. While they're killing each other off, Ron Paul and his City-State, tucked away in a corner of the desert no one even explored, attacks everybody and wins the game.

They wouldn't play Civ 5 because there are no corporations.

I think the only way Ron Paul wins is if "getting hit on by Bruno" was a victory condition.

Obama and Romney both pick the American Civ. Ethiopia, China, Germany, Persia, Greece, and England are on the the same map.

Obama starts next to Ethiopia - random Rebels with muskets appear in the modern era with 2 strength each and the unit name of "birthers" - Romney starts next to China and outsources production to China - he runs at -80 gold per turn in the late game because he refuses to go autocracy so far.

Germany bullies the hell out of Greece (yay) and dominates it. Persia builds the Manhattan Project - all civs except China denounce. Romeny tries to denounce Persia twice. Romney moves troops throughout England only to criticize England's organization and gets denounced promptly. Obama has to deal with the fact that Germany controls the economic wellbeing of one sector of the world and China the other. Both bubbles collapse and China and Germany begin taking over city states around them. Romney offers a defensive pact to Obama - Obama declines in hopes for a UN win. UN vote comes up - Obama is one vote short - apparently Jerusalem had been drawing bombs and making bomb noises at the UN and their vote was accidently counted for Persia.

China stops buying luxuries from Romney and Obama and both economies collapse.

The end :D

One will play Attila, the other will play Rome.

They end up nuking each other.

Mitt Romney techs flight then releases a video parody of Gangnam Style (If you haven't seen the parody yet - nows your cue)

A couple things come to mind as instances in the game.

Arabia attacks Jerusalem (CS) and Obama receives the usual message about "We regret to inform you that we are attacking one of your pet city states." And of course Obama chooses the response, "We won't let that affect our relations"

Romney would gain favour with the other leaders throughout the game, then in a sudden fit of madness would demand something from each of them so as to lose all his luxury trades and find himself with a  of -25 unhappiness.

If it were CIV 4, Obama would buy all the health buildings, playing a mod that allows for unlimited deficit, yet still move the slider for cash to 100% (similar to tax effect) so as to diminish the other sliders.

Romney would set every city to gold focus, and start selling off schools & hospitals just to give tax breaks to great merchants. Then he would buy some more stealth bombers, even though we are already #1 in pointy sticks by a ridiculous margin.

Obama would attempt to strengthen the demographics over the long term through investments in infrastructure, but the citizens would not appreciate him for it because the stats didn't jump up after just one turn.

remmert, i approve of your post. <3
