We are starting a new Freeciv 2.5 based game for up to 126 players on Longturn. This is the 36th Freeciv LT game played on Longturn and with that experience the ruleset has been modified to offer better gaming experience for moving (turn changing) once a day.

The game can be completed in about 120-150 turns and there are no AI players in the start. We have had lots of players all around the world and this is why we are using 23h turns for the game instead of 24h turns.

The game basically uses 3x moves, bigger work radius for the cities and the minimum distance between the cities has been increased. Traditionally people have been joining up and forming alliances but that's not an absolute requirement even while the Longturn games typically have lots of player interaction and the players have been busy forming alliances and making all kinds of deals. The game resembles Civ2 and Civ3.

The site can be found here:

and the game can be joined here.

There are currently few other games running but it's no longer possible to join those. The LT36 (the game we are about to start) is scheduled to be started in about 3-4 weeks but exact date is not yet known. There will be an extended turn during the Christmas and the setup allows the players to delegate their nation for the allies if they go away on a vacation or can't play for some other reason.

In 3-4 weeks it will be Christmas.

I suppose there's no problem if I play FreeCiv's Linux version, is there?

Also, welcome to the forums! :wavey:
