Help! No text!

OK the problem: stopped playing civ 5 for a month or two..so the march update..updated.. I use steam so it should be newest version. I run dx11 and i load it... NO TEXT. i can navigate from memory from my working dx9, but i shouldnt have to.. anyway once i find my save game- still no text- it acts like its loading then..sticks and crashes after full time it would take to load. DX9 works but after 2 hours i get a red white checker board in spots or grey areas.. dont really care about that..just how do i get my text back wtf is going on it worked perfect when i first installed up till last patch..

just so no one says the its your spec crap : phenom x6 3.2ghz 8GBddr3-gskills gts450-1gbddr3 2tb space 8Gb page file-windows 7 x64

Moderator Action: Moved to tech support + renamed the thread.

Please go in Steam to the library and check in there Civ5s local files. Might hopefully fix some broken files.

verify file cashe says 1 file missing.. says replaced file then still happens.. i am.. well say not quite expert user but close.. so..all the obvious.. defraging game cashe verify files, defrag comp registry,etc all done.. i have encountered many problems i could fix.. this one no one has except power mac users..which is really odd..

Dunno if it would help at all, but maybe the game changed to a language which doesn't have data of (Say it's in french and suddenly switches to russian without downloading needed files).

Other thing: Are your drivers updated?

You just have to keep verifying files under steam, until it says all files varified. Doing it just once does not help. Everytime the game crashes for me, there are more corrupted files. My text kept dissappearing for a week like that. My text are back, now it it is back to just shutting down with blue screen.

drivers updated, i will check the language and verify repeatedly thanks.. any other ideas ,great.. avg or avast antivirus affect that?
