Cold war units preview thread

Here is a preview of the first of my cold war units; the T55; A kind of intermediate modern tank.
Like usual there are still a few bits and peices to be worked out, the wheels need to be more distinct etc.. and I may use a different Camo setup.

the colours on the large image look great: but when reduced to civ scale it looks a bit bold and dazzling.

O.k the next unit in my "cold war units" expansion; not realy so much a cold war unit, but a much missed industrial/modern era unit that iv'e wanted.
A troop transort, converted cruise ship;

In my alt_history mod I am going to have a world map, and make a feature of a global conflict; So one of the things I want to do is improve the test for players posed by a sea invasion.
I'm going to make the Firaxis Troop transport have a low movement (most of the sea units, including subamrines are going to have increased move rates; I'm going to set the multi purpose assault transport at 3) and only allow it to carry 2 units of any type.
The Cruise ship will be able to carry 6 Foot troops (no tanks or APCs, I want the logistics of a sea invasion to be Sea Difficult as it is in real life; no more packing eight divisions of tanks on a transport that can withstand direct attacks by submarines even when unescorted, trecking half way round the world in a few turns and crushing enemy cities with Armoured spear heads).
The cruise ship is also going to be weak! a single attack from a carrier based fighter squadron shold be enough to end your boys to the bottom if they don't have Naval back up perhaps a ADM value of 1/1/5 I may also do a cheap, fast "liberty ship" type unit for transporting tanks etc.. also with a low ADM value.

Here is a 8 way preview, Ive done the Default already. I need advice on what Navy fleet vessels to do, I was thinking of doing a WWII pocket battle ship, a destroyer and a Capital ship. Any sugestions?

i would really love to see the soviet BMD.

and yes, the russian still love to throw
their heavy weaponary out of planes!

i believe it is similiar to the amphibious DMP.

What about a hovercraft of some sort? It could be a fast, but weak transport vehicle. Perhaps restrict its movement to coastal tiles only. The Russian Ekronoplan would be much the same as a hovercraft, only faster.
