I've been everywhere, man
My latest:

M113A2 [Unanimated for now]

Poly: 700
Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M113

I think I finally have my new texturing technique down, and am interested in what you all think about it.

A note on the varriant:
There are tons of variation on this basic APC model. I chose to do the M113A2 from the early 1980s-90s. The latest version in use is the M113A3 which has a different rear. There is no modern desert scheme for it because it's the wrong version, though I'm sure you could re-skin it that way and no one would really notice.

Enjoy,

-Smitty

Another nice ground unit. Good work smitty. Is it that dark in person?

I like the model, the skin however... not my taste. For example the wheels: they are just round shapes of one color. IMHO this skin is not equal to the model.

One of the reasons is the "intensnes" of the black. It doesnt look right, IMHO. Also the green and brown is just too simple. I can't see any details other then the lights. I loved your old way of skinning, but this one... nah, not my thing :D

Just my two cents. I tried to be as constructive as I can, but I have problems finding the right words in English (damn sister took my dictionary ;) ).

I'm loving this model, snafusmith... but is there any way you could make a more detailed skin? Perhaps you could try taking pieces from various Combat Mission skins and patching them together to form a new custom skin. For instance, take engine grill from T-34, the wheels from Panther, and the hatch from a KV-2 and piece them together to form a nice well detailed skin without having to draw it all by hand.

It might be an easy way to get good looking detailed skins for your wonderful models :)
