It is 1600BC, and Egypt is divided: the foreign Hyksos rule Lower Egypt, native kings rule Upper Egypt, and the city of Kerma controls Nubia. You have 125 Turns to unify all Egypt under a single Pharaoh, and build an empire that will stand the test of time.

New Kingdom Scenario (v.9)

Scenario Features
  • Play as Nubia, the Hyksos, or Egypt.
  • All new Tech Tree, Buildings, Units and Policies reflect Egyptian culture.
  • Each playable civilization has six Unique Buildings and Units.
  • 15 new religious cults play a significant role in gameplay.
  • The yearly flood of the Nile River can greatly impact the land and city growth.
  • Special thanks to Danrell, for almost all the unit models in this mod!
  • Supports all languages, though text is in english

Moderator Action: Thread moved to the main Creation & Customization forum while in development, only files in the modpack section

Seems promising, but knowing the usual quality of you scenarios, it's not a surprise :D

Just send me a PM or report the first post (using ) when your first version is available to move the thread back in modpack, TIA.

Have you ever played Children of the Nile? It's aged very well and is still playable today (and cheap on Steam). But mostly, it contains an insane amount of information of Egypt. civilizations, cities, buildings, major historical eras and empires, etc... It's really a history lesson with a great game wrapped around it.

Okay, I didn't realize this was in the wrong place.

Have you ever played Children of the Nile?

I have looked into the game, and though I don't plan on buying it (not really a SimCity-type fan) I did find an interesting opening track for the mod from the original game music. Keith Zizza, the composer, did a nice job of capturing the feel of "ancient" Egypt.

Question, is there going to be unique social policy trees again?

You should also try out 'Pharaoh' (the video game). It's built on the legacy of the 'Caesar' video games. It's sort of a crossbreed of Civ and Lemmings.

Anyways, your scanario looks interesting!

Question, is there going to be unique social policy trees again?

Yes, there will be civ-specific policy trees (renamed "Royal Edicts"). Many of the edicts will buff religion, which is incredibly important for this scenario. Several of the edicts carry a non-culture price, like the sacrifice of stored food.

Faith can generally be used to "whip" buildings and units more quickly than building with hammers. Each civ begins with a random state religion, and it's pretty important to spread it quickly to gain a battlefield advantage (AI gets its state religion to spread automatically every so often).

There are also major religious temples that can only be built in their historic cult cities, though they don't require a specific religion. These temples are the only source of Priest specialists, which can greatly increase faith accretion.

Played a bit of it. Very nice work Frame, can't wait for the next coversion you make. Hope after the other two egypt ones you create a later version the Into the Renisccanice Scenrio, excpet in the 18th century.

Hi, and hope this Scenario plays well.

My plans for the next few months are to first update, then provide a BNW version of, my Faerun mod. So, I'm probably not going to release anything new for a long time.

Edit: Egypt Scenario now includes support for all languages.

I'd really like to play this mod; however, it extracts to an empty folder each time I try to download it (or get it via Steam). I'm sure it's a steam issue, but it's a real shame.

Hey Rob, thanks for the heads up. When I added language support late last night I (stupidly) added a colon to the mod title, which aborts the unpack routine. Problem is fixed now if you'd like to try it out.

I updated the mod to v.3, which significantly reduces the difficulty, and extends the number of turns to 150. I think this will give players more time to play with new buildings without having to warmonger from turn 1. This version also reduces the chances that the Nile Flood event will fire, which I like, but I can understand that some players would get tired of always having to perform "upkeep" on improvements.

Another great Scenario/Mod by you FA! Would love to play a Medieval Scenario by you as well.
