I will expand my ideas later in this same post. Just wanted to start some discussion about the addition of events.

These 2 threads contains all the info necessary.

So far there are 4 types of things to do here:

1) Random & Generic events: revolts, fire in buildings, storms, etc.
2) Specific events: related to nations (can be done in XML through specific buildings), etc.
3) Quests
4) Redone the existing tutorial from scratch according to the features of the mod

What do you think?
 
I'd like to add the following event themes:

1) King asks you to produce and ship X amount of a particular resource. Then gives a particular unit or FF points or +1 relationship in return.

2) Home country is conquored by a great general. This happened to Portugal during Napoleon's peninsular campaign. He and the other elites are hosted in one of your settlements.

3) Two european countries merged their crowns. This happened to England and Scotland during the historical period, and would come into the game if Scotland were introduced. Two colonies would be unable to declare war on each other until independence.

4) Indians ask for military escort. Game asks you to move a military unit to Point A, then move to Point B. Said unit gets a small amount of xp.

5) Join the King's pirate hunters. Add a command on the europe travel section of the sea to disappear for 2-4 turns, take a random amount of damage, and come back with +2 xp. After a number of times doing this, you get a +1 relationship to the king. Stacks up to a max, decreases over time.

6) Join the pirates. Add a command on the europe travel section of the sea to disappear for 2-4 turns, take a random amount of damage, and come back with 10% of the ship's european sell value.

That's great. I also think about kings asking for resources, I don't fully understand why you can only sell the resources you obtain! In fact the colonies are there to give resources to their king!

That's a really great idea!

Scotland is ready to be added to the game, so this will fit perfectly with the mod. Thanks!

These are good ideas too.
