JFD's Rise to Power

Not open for further replies.
In my game, while playing as Casimir III (vanilla, not revised by JFD) in turn 48 Isabella founded Catholicism and made it her state religion.

As I met her before - there appeared an available decision to establish Catholicism as polish state religion.

After accepting this decision a blank window with inactive button "Establish" popped up.

The game seems to be OK (other civs turns went ok and it is waiting for my orders) but I can't do anything as the button is inactive and I cant close this pop-up :-(

Other major mods enabled are Community Patch (without Community Balance Patch), City States Diplomacy, Civ IV Diplomatic Features, Civ IV Leader Traits, YnAMP and (of course) JFD's cultural Diversity and Sukrikat's Events&Decisions.

If you had logging enabled, could you post you Lua.log file? It might help diagnose the issue.

If you didn't have it enabled, you can do it for next time and try and re-create the issue:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=487482

It seems that files named JFD_PietyBalanceSpecialistAtlas_xx are still missing, and it causes the city view of every city that has a Monastery to break down. Otherwise it's now working :p

I see that I'd deleted from the core mod the Specialist atlas before actually moving it over to the balance patch. Well, I'm in the middle the beliefs for the balance patch, so it's in no state for uploading - in the meantime, you'll have to do a Henry VIII and do away with those Monasteries :p

Did I mention one of them can only be found on Lake tiles ;)

Which is awesome! Can't wait to find one (I've only seen Saffron in my current game - but right next to my capital :D )

Unfortunately my Piety social policies buttons have also disappeared... I wonder what's causing this issue as I have no other mods affecting my social policies...

It could possibly be a DX9 thing. I run into messes of trouble with DX11 involving preposterous graphical glitches that make things unplayable, so I can't switch over (maybe once I get in a position to have a more potent computer...that happens to be the one I actually first played Civ V on!). It's the same thing that causes a lot of user-made UIs to have textures replaced with red and white checkerboards, which is a bit iresome but nothing too interfering.

I don't think so unfortunately, I play the game in DX10/dx11 and still get the issue.

Are the new resources compatable with More Luxuries?

Are the new resources compatable with More Luxuries?

Yup, from what I can see.

Also, update! I can now see the policy buttons. They only appeared after much testing, by disabling BOTH Leugi's Bolivia and Leugi's Cuba... I'll try to see if anything in their code was causing the problem, but it seems weird as they were literally the first two enabled mods on my list. Is there such a thing as too many mods, from the point of the view of the game?

Edit: it would take someone smarter than me to confirm, but I wonder if it has to do with the South American independence event those two mods seem to include.

Interesting. Will investigate this later today, after I've updated Churchill. Thanks for narrowing it down for me.

Definitely! I couldn't use civ V without More Luxuries :)

@JFD

Voilla - lua.log from a new game with the same issue.

Darn, I was hoping that would tell me something, but nothing. Is anyone else getting the same issue? I'll just test on my end to see what happens.

EDIT: Lucky you! It happens on my end. Unlucky me  Will investigate now.

Hiya JFD. I won't lie, the Piety mod looks absolutely *amazing*. Can I ask, though, how well is the Prestige side of this mod coming along? I only ask as I couldn't see much detail about it in your opening post.

Another question-will this work with both the Community Patch & the Community Balance Patch?

Thanks in advance.

Yours,

Aussie.

Ah, I'd no idea it was an issue with Bolivia and Cuba. I will redownload post-haste.

Also, you can take a bit of a sneak peek at what Prestige will have, since some of the files are already included in the mod...^^

Ok, I believe I mentioned a crash when the DLL thing was used in conjunction with Cultural Diversity earlier in this thread, and I still haven't found a solution. I can activate Cultural Diversity with a few other mods just fine, and I can activate the DLL mod with a few other mods just fine as well, however when I activate them both at the same time the game crashes, meaning I can't use P&P.

What "dll mod" you mean?

Did you notice you need Whoward's Various Mod Components (or Community Patch) to use P&P? These are dll mods, so you can't use other mod with its own dll file with P&P.

Do you have the most up-to-date versions of both the DLL and CulDiv (Core)? And it crashes even when these are the only two mods being loaded? You've cleared your cache folder, in case it's that? Otherwise, I've no idea.

And if I had waited a little longer, I would have found them. It's nice to see my Saffron art get new use! I'm very happy to see it here!

The piety addition definitely makes things more interesting, I like how high piety makes it easier to convert nearby city states as well as your own cities. I haven't gotten to the point where I'd want to secularize so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

A couple of things, the images for the monk specialists are missing from the monastary page in the civlopedia (angry red squares in their place). I'm also somewhat surprised that Monastaries are still a choosable religious belief given that they are now regular buildings.

I noticed in the buildings section seven new religious buildings. Are those new beliefs coming soon?
