Intro Theme

Felt similar. At first didn't like it, but listened to the whole thing and can't help but say they made another great hit.

It really evokes a sort of somber, grandeur. Kinda like a reprisal, but still hopeful in a way, with a feeling of nostalgia, but adventure.

I'm pretty sure it is in Latin.

Brave New World Theme Lyrics:
Spoiler :
vidi terra novum
sanctum civitatum O
vidi terra novum
sanctum civitatum Deo
vidi caelum novum
terra novam a Deo
primum caelum abiit
et prima terra abiit

terra novum et caelum a Deo
Deo descedentem a Deo

et absterget Deus omnem lacrimam
a oculis eorum et mors ul tra non
erit neque luctus neque clamor terra prima abierunt

O terra, O terra
O terra, O terra

novam Ierusalem

O terra, O Ierusalem
descendentem terra novam
terra novam et caelum

et mare iam non est
afferent gloriam honorem gentium in illam
O gloria Deo
prima terra abiit
terra novam et caelum
et mare iam non est terra novam et caelum

vidi terra novam
prima terra abiit
vidi Ierusalem
terra novum et caelum
terra novum et caelum
O gloria
gloria terra novam et caelum
vidi Ierusalem

quae prima abierunt
vidi terra novam
quae prima abierunt
vidi Ierusalem
terra novam et caelum
terra gloria
Amen

Unfortunately I have no translation (these lyrics were posted by JSMCAG in another thread).

My limited knowledge of Ecclesiastical Latin tells me the following:

It's a hymn.

I'm guessing it's based on Revelations chapter 20something, where the new Heavens and the new Earth (Caelum et Terra/um) are created.

I was right. This is the Google Translate translation:

I saw a new land
O holy city
I saw a new land
Holy City of God
I saw a new heaven
Newfoundland from God
went the first heaven
and the first earth passed away

a new heaven and earth by God
God descending from God

He will wipe every tear
from their eyes, and death, not ul ul
the earth shall come to pass, neither sorrow, nor crying has passed away

O land, O land
O land, O land

new Jerusalem

O land, O Jerusalem
down Newfoundland
a new heaven and earth

and the sea is no
bring the glory honor of the nations into it
Oh, glory to God
first earth passed away
a new heaven and earth
and the sea, and the sky is no longer the land of a new

I saw a new land
first earth passed away
I saw Jerusalem
a new heaven and earth
a new heaven and earth
Oh glory
the glory of heaven and a new earth
I saw Jerusalem

has passed away
I saw a new land
has passed away
I saw Jerusalem
a new heaven and earth
the land of glory
amen

I didn't get all the hate for the new theme right after release. I think it's far superior to the "someone left a mic on in the practice room" that makes up about one third of the G&K theme.

Nice to see the BWN theme getting a little appreciation. :)

Hey, don't discredit Gods & Kings' theme, it was really beautiful as well, and it fitted the expansion marvelously! :mischief:
The only theme I didn't really enjoy was the vanilla one... To me it didn't fit the game's feel, and was rather slow and boring, with only some points of interest... Coming from Civilization IV's Baba Yetu, it was a real disappointment...

Speaking of which, no theme as yet surprised Baba Yetu, and to me that is THE BEST at representing Civilization.
Brave New World's theme fit the expansion perfectly, and is a really beautiful song, too, though! :) I quite enjoy listening to it...
There are, however, better themes in this expansion - which is saying a lot, seeing how good this one is!

It's a great theme and I completely don't understand the complaining. I love it personally and greatly prefer it to the bland Civ 5 theme and G&K one which quickly got old. Baba Yetu I find a bit overrated too and, in fact, I think this new one is better.

I like it, but I'm already sick of it considering I sit staring at the loading screen for 5 minutes upon startup (for whatever reason... the game runs great, but initial loading takes forever).

It's a good theme. I dislike how both it and the intro video are all optimistic, though. They should be portraying a dystopian nightmare of evil and cruelty.

I have that exact same issue! I play multiplayer with a friend and their game loads almost instantly, then they send me invite after invite to make sure I got an invite since I haven't joined yet, but in reality it just sits on the loading screen. It also takes a while for the actual games to start up after I create/load them.

With my setup it takes 40 seconds to get to the game menu (Firaxis,2K, then Theme picture "Loading", eventually Main Menu), then about 5 seconds to get to "Begin the Journey". I don't think this has anything to do with the game introduction,...the game itself is just heavy and there is a lot to load.

If you are looking to improve your load times,...?? I am sure installing the game on a high quality SSD would help,...and Overclocking is a option if you have the capabilities.
