Pardon me Good Sir, but which way to Arabia?

Ad.1) ummm.... Yeah ... !!!! xD ;)

Ad.2) When you leave the Scumm Bar and cutscene follows with Bob telling LeChuck that there is a problem on Melee Island (TM) with a new wannabe pirate. After the cutscene, walk to the left, back up to the lookout and past him to the right. Now you see a map of Melee Island (TM) with lights. They represent places you can go. Go to the one in the middle called "clearing". You’ll see that it is a circus. Walk inside. (TM xD)

^^.....

Wait... ships can move through forts? Or is this a mod?
See, I never build forts ever (since it's such a bother to try to predict exactly what plot the enemy will try to attack), so this isn't the kind of thing I would know, along with the whole thing about building forts on resources.

If you're going to play Civ4, you need Beyond the Sword.

Now forts gather resources, serve as canals up to two tiles from a water source and can house aircraft units and missiles.

I have BTS. Never play without it. But you seem to have completely glossed over this little phrase...

Oh then you are missing out on a lot of canal fun :p

This picture is from a thread I made a long time ago, to see whether the purple canal was possible (it is not, but there exists another to the south that bypasses the southern peninsula, so fast travel still an option). Notice the yellow canals allow deep inland cities to act as coastal

Then what's all the hype about building new cities as canals when one can just build forts?

Well, anyways, not so much a funny screenshot, but it seems my chief bombardment logician is a bit confused about how defended Mycenae is here:
Spoiler :

^That's because you have a gunpowder unit selected so only the culture defence %age is shown.

Didnt want this thread to die ;)

short story. I was taking on #1 (now #2) Zara, as I had a chance to take out one of his SoD in the open after a hard fought war against Monty (eastern part of my land). Zara had 3 vassals, which unfortunately was very popular, so I got a diplo hit of -12 (3 for each civ. mod rules) with Saladin with whom I had very good relations throughout the game. Knowing it was just a matter of time before he declared against me, I was still in shock of the size of his first SoD (the one to the right. The one to the left only have 10 units).
It have more units in that single SoD, than I have alltogether! So now its time to draft, whip and buy...

Spoiler :

This is the real problem with SODs:

Spoiler :

I had so many units in my SOD that they blocked the view of the battle animation.

Thank god for those conqueror units
Spoiler :

I vastly underestimated the Mongol invaders (well, more like I got lazy right before winning) and the whole of China was conquered. Luckily I just got a GM from economics, giving me my last golden age right before all of China was taken. Shame.

Wow, this "Chinese conquistadors in Mexico winning the UHV while their homeland is being ravaged by the Mongols" story is a nice twist on the usual RFC themes.

Historical victory?
