First Person Battling

What would be awesome would be if you could actually fight the battles you set. If anyone else has played East India Company or Port Royale (1,2, or 3) will understand. You could have something like 20-30 archers (or spearmen, or swordmen, etc.) in an group. Then, you could choose to control all of the troops and how you want them to attack or choose one single unit. Not like a first person shooter, but like a real time strategy game. Then, larger units like siege equipment or tanks would have only a few units, like 3, and could totally obliterate large numbers of infantry. Thoughts? Would be cool. Also would be cool to just watch tanks roll over crossbowmen or watch a mushroom cloud engulf the entire screen.
