Random Rants IX: I'm Mad As Hell, And I'm Not Gonna Take It Anymore!

/b/ is the "random" message board on *****.org. It's nearly without regulation and is the origin of most internet trash and memes and such.

I wish I had a little brother sometimes.

Actually, that's not true. What I really want is a miniature version of myself.

I sometimes wish I had a brother or sister. I look at my friends and others who have siblings and they get along like a house on fire... perhaps my younger years wouldn't have been so lonely if I had a sibling. Not that I wasn't happy - I always liked being on my lonesome... but when I look back, it sure would have been nice.

Jesus H. Christ, I can't believe how willfully stupid people can be. A good friend of mine, a quite well-educated one, still insists that he's voting for McCain because he "doesn't want to have his taxes raised." How hard is it to understand that no one with an individual income of $200,000 or less will get a tax increase under Obama's plan? It's stupefyingly simple, and yet so many seem not to get it; when someone is less than ignorant about the world, I can only assume that such ignorance is willful.

I want to slap people when they do this.

Well, look on the bright side. At least he didnt say that he didnt want to vote for a socialist.

A lot of them are.

Then again, a lot of Americans in general are.

well... I don't want to offend anyone with generic stereotypes.... plus... ALOT of mormons are republicans (my family is one of the few democrats I know) and I know PLENTY of cool mormons (and intelligent too) that are republican....

plus... stereotypes in general kinda' bother me.... no matter if its against people I disagree with or not

although... lots of American's are stupid

$200,000 for individual income, or $250,000 combined income.

Well the problem is that you're in New Jersey.

Well, look on the bright side. At least he didnt say that he didnt want to vote for a socialist.

He has me to set him straight about what is and isn't Socialist, but that doesn't change the fact that he's writing in Ron Paul (I know I said he was voting McCain above, I was wrong.) He probably calls Obama a socialist when I'm not around or something.

Yep. Especially the ones who use apostrophes in inappropriate places. j/k

Sadly, Taras, I believe thou hast been pwned.

Eh, good thing you ain't moving to a coastal Southern area. The heat and humidity down here combine to create a horrible weather combo. I'd much prefer a dry heat than a humid.

I swear that everyone here (in my ward at church) is as republican as you get get, and then we have this one guy that has his phD and teaches at the college who is a diehard democrat. As I walk through the parking lot on Sunday to get into the building I see a whole bunch of McCain stickers on cars, and then I see this one car with a bunch of Obama stickers all over it. People like to give him a hard time, but he's a really nice and very intelligent guy.
