Summary:
It was great fun and I learned a lot (especially when I compared my log with DaveMcW’s log – thank you Dave for your comments).
I guess I built to many cities (I thought I needed it for research) and I did not get Chitzen Itza population up to size 12 quick enough. The idea to revolt to MONARCHY was probably the biggest mistake though?! It took too much time too late in the game.
I am also a bit embarressed  over that I forgot about the free Philosophy tech. Maybe I played it too quick (it took about two hours) in order to switch over and learn more about to the newly bought CIV IV?!:)

Don't feel too bad. It took me until 90BC. I also tried expanding.

I also thank DaveMcW for his description. The only question I have for you is in regards to "1675BC: Pop rush Javelin Thrower in Copan". I tried things your way and after three successive workers, Copan was only a size 1. What tiles were you working, etc? And how come you built copan 2 tiles to the NW instead of three so as to take advantage of the luxury? Sorry for all the questions.

One more general question.. What was the difficulty setting of this game?

I would assume to share the wheat for the workers, and thats why it grew quicker. An excellent idea.

I finished in 330 BC, losing the Oracle and MoM in cascades after building Pyramds and fighting a war with the Aztecs with a total military of 2 warriors and 2 jav throwers.

Built:

Libary 1225
Pyramids 1300
Great Library 875
Colosseum 775?
Great Wall 450

After i built the pyramids, i lost 2 wonders by 5 turns, neither time with a wonder to cascade to. reached 1000 culture in 190 AD. accidently submitted a save at 100 culture. I'll read the aim 9 or 10 times next time, so as not to make the same mistakes.

Didn't see this until after submissions were closed but played it anyway. I didn't play this as if the game was over after 1000 culture, but as if this was a snapshot of the first period in a 20k culture game.

I hadn't used my golden age yet, and researched towards republic figuring to advance the MA with the Great Library and then starting my golden age to help those early wonders. Thats what I would do in a 20k game.

I´m sorry I could not play this game before the deadline, but unfortunately COTM 18 kept me busy. I guess the next QG might suffer the same fate, as next month´s COTM is sid-level.

Anyways, I still enjoyed it. My finish in 330 BC does not seem to be a top-result though.

Build order was Warrior, Oracle (1475 - I had research Myst in order to trade for Alphabet), MoM (1125), Library (1025), The Great Library, Hanging Gardens (370) and Colosseum (370 - yeah I whipped it!)

It was too late that I realized the power of the UU, so my GA started in 710 BC only. I could have saved a lot with an earlier GA.
