This under-construction view appears to be an improvement on the old version where the wonder suddenly appears fully completed in your city in one turn.

That blue-gray jungle resource could be silk

The gray metal may be Tin a very important commodity in the bronze age.

Hmm, its possible they classed an civilians. Would make them even more vunerable than normal.

Actually, we know that units can get free upgrades from ancient ruins (goody huts), which wouldn't work very well with civilian scouts. What other civilian unit are they going to upgrade to? Workers or Settlers doesn't make sense.

Would make more sense that they would be a cheap weak military unit with a few free promotions that make it worthwhile to upgrade them later. The new combat system and movement bonusses should see to it that they won't be destroyed if they encounter a single barbarian.

The only thing scouts ever "upgraded" to was explorers, theirs no reason they cant be a civilian unit and upgrade to a civilian explorer unit, though I do agree its more likely they will be the weakest military unit and can be upgraded to a explorer (if in the game) or if not then a warrior is the next best unit type.

Also scouts have always been very vunerable to enemy warriors even barbarians, I dont think they will be much better against a single barbarian in civ5, not that thier is such a thing as "single" barbarians because they come in waves from a camp :).

...

Nice find on the colussus in construction, you must have the eyes of an eagle!

Archer

Movement: 2?; Strength: ?; Ranged Attack: ?
Technology: Archery
Note: The bombardment range for all units appears to be 2 hexes.

On your site Arioch, The note: should be changed to either "atleast 2 hexes" or "for all early units", as the latter tech Rocket Artilery fires 3 hexes. Also UU's such as the ballista or the longbow might have an extended range from thier standard counterparts.

I really hope the longbow gives 3 range, as this will make playing as English such an early advantage, you put your front line up, and no ones getting near it :D

(unknown)** (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown)

Again another small correction, its should be changed to

Babylon* Nebuchadnezzar II (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown)
(unknown)** (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown)
(unknown)** (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown) (unknown)

*Steam & Direct2Drive Deluxe Edition exclusive
**Preium DLC confirmed (which will bring atleast 2 more civs late 2010.)

Babylon is now exclusive to D2D and Steam
The Preium DLC will be available to everyone at the same time, its just D2D's pre-order is giving it away for free.

I noticed that before and was also hoping visible wonders in progress to be the case. But it's also very possible it could just be half-finished artwork.

lol, no its obvious it is a wonder "in construction".
If it were simply an "unfinished" model, then that would not explain the obvious "construction" effect given to the wonder, the scaffolding and half built structure.
If it were simply "not finished art work" then it would be more like a very bad image of a full built collusus and not a perfectly rendered half built collusus.

You don't know what modeling tools they use! They might have to build assets block by block like a real construction! :hammer2:

LOL :D

Addition for Arioch:

Oslo is also a city state. Maritime as can be seen in the final stategic view screenshot that 2K_Greg put up.

A bit of speculation about city state names:

There are going to be a lot of them in the game and at the moment we know the following:
Geneva
Vienna
Singapore
Rio de Janeiro
Budapest
Florence
Venice
Sidon
Oslo

So which other ones could be used? Cities in existing Civs (and most likely Civs that has been identified as future Civs which might give some clues) are out obviously.

Europe, specially in Medieval and Renaissance times had many of them, and of course there are many small countries whose capital can be used (Oslo, Vienna and Budapest being confirmed examples).

Some of my suggestions:
Bern - Militaristic (Swiss Mercenaries)
Malta - Militaristic (Knights Hospitaller)
Carthage - Maritime
Jerusalem - Cultured
Havana
Cape Town - Maritime
Colombo (Sri Lanka)
Sydney and/or Melbourne
Gdansk/Krakow (both of which were semi-independent city states at some point)
Troy
Kathmandu - Cultured
Antioch

The thing I am struggling with the most is some more militaristic city states. Most of the old ones, Sparta for example, are already in actual civs. I really don't think they are going to add current day ones like Pyongyang or Baghdad. Maybe Maori or some other Polynesians?

Arioch,
Its great that you're compiling data and your page looks very nice, but can you please change the "AWOL" language on this page, or add a clarifying note?
http://well-of-souls.com/civ/civ5_units.html

Many people are assuming that units you have listed as AWOL are confirmed as not in Civ5, whereas in reality they are merely units that we have not yet seen in any screenshots or developer comments.

People for example are starting to assume that there are no stealth bombers or modern aircraft in the game, which would be foolish to assume at this stage.

Lets try to avoid unintentionally spreading disinformation. Thanks!

Would be interesting to know if the Iroquois special ability applies to both military and civilian units. In that case it would give you both fast military units and part of the Civ4 Fast Worker. It might also suggest that terrain specific movement bonusses are no longer granted with promotions in Civ5, as it would make this trait less valuable (there might be generic movement promotions instead).
