Are 2.42 saves compatible between operating systems?

I have the 2.42 classic version of Civ2 installed (a) under Windows 3.1 inside DOSBox running on a Windows 7 64bit machine and (b) on a Windows XP 32bit machine. Will save games be compatible between these installations?
