Maquis
King
I'm starting this thread for the VQ series (Very Quick). We are well underway in our 4th game, and I am getting ready to start up game 5 soon.
Here's a couple ideas up my sleeve...
The Conquistadors"
We're going to do what the Conquistadors did (or, at least attempted to do?). Conquer the new world.
One rule in this variant... we cannot win unless we conquer the new world. This simply means that we must control every city on that continent.
All victory conditions will be enabled.
Standard Terra map, default number of AI civs.
We are Spain (Would expect someone else??)
Exponential Advancement
The second is a bit of a variant of the "Oscillating War" SG that I'm playing in now. It's going to be a builder's game at heart; although it will have the potential for war in it... but it will *not* be a conquest/domination game. In fact, I will turn off domination. Not to be mean, but I would just like to see another victory type in this game.
Here's the scoop, may sound a bit confusing, but bear with me:
In order to advance up the tech tree, we need to grow expodentially. What's that mean? I'm sure everone knows an expodential formula - 2^x
Now, there are 6 tech ages. In order to learn a tech in the next age, we must have (7-x) cities with 2^x population. We start out in the Ancient age of course, and we'll call that age 1, and we can learn techs in that age. Giving each age a number, we get:
2 - Classical
3 - Midevil
4 - Renessance
5 - Industrial
6 - Modern
Just to make things clear, here is what is needed in each age:
Classical - 5 cities of pop 2
Midevil - 4 cities of pop 4
Renessance - 3 cities of pop 8
Industrial - 2 cities of pop 16
Modern - 1 city of pop 32
I'd like ot get some feedback from the VQ vets, and anyone else. I'd like to know which idea sounds better (or how to improve each)
