gotm 23 - system crashes

Is anyone having problems with the game crashing? It just started happening to me with gotm23, seems random, although contacting other civs seems to trigger it the most. Playing Civ III, v1.29 on Windows XP

You should contact Cracker via private mail, as stated in the game instructions, as it's impossible to discuss the causes in public without getting into spoiler territory.

I have come across the same thing, and it did seem to happen when contacting other civs.
