This what I'm trying to do in my mod as well. Works pretty good, but there are some gaps left. I guess you can help a lot.

It looks like a slightly recurved bow, so it would work fairly well for Persians I think. That's how I'll use it anyway. It also brings to mind WH High Elves or TotR Elves IMO. Beautiful unit, as most of your others are too.
