Obama's a dud, what to do?

How was the president responsible for the oil spill, and how could he personally do anything to fix it?

People somehow have a need to place blame on a specific individual.

I would really like Obama to go back to doing his job and stop cowering to the whims of the media

Yeah Obama taking the heat for NOT intervening. Which is ironic given that they were screaming bloody murder when Obama did interviene.

Oh well you know the saying.

Republicans get into power on popularity then procceed to screw everything up. Democrates get into power to do unpopular things to fix everything. thus becomming unpopular. and repeat.

1. He personally blew up the rig so his socialist agenda could come to America hidden in the thick black tar of the oil spill.
2. You and I both know he should be on the beaches/marshes/whatever crap they have in Louisiana that no one actually goes to and taking a scrubber to a pelican so that those ugly beautiful, majestic creatures. Then, he should personally grab each shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico so that we will all be saved.

But he hasn't, so BOO.

I love watching the left having their confidence broken. No self-respecting right-winger would expect his country's leader to be able to fix an oil leak when the engineers on the scene can't do it. Yet this is liberals - they don't want to live in reality and blame their leader for stuff that isn't his fault.

It's wonderful to see. Keep it up guys.

I already lost faith with Obama long before the rig blew it's top :p.

Before you ask, I'm nether a conservative nor a liberal.

I've been against Obama since the start, he shares almost none of my viewpoints. Keep on generalizing the left, at least I don't support f*cking feudalism.

He responsible in the sense that all of the government is responsible for deregulating and letting BP et al have a free hand.
In what ways was British Petroleum or any other MegaOil at that deregulated to cause this disaster? More than that, BP had more stake than anyone else preventing an oil spill; I can't really in any way see this as an issue of a corporation having its way with consumers or lax regulation, despite its magnitude, it was a mistake of series of mistakes, it's not really an issue of "having a free hand." If blaming someone is necessary, there are probably a good number of rig workers or inspectors or without a doubt dozens more to be blamed; but at its heart it was an accident, and it's a significant stretch to hold the president accountable for contributing to it.

To be fair, petroleum engineers are some of the stupidest sort.

He should appoint himself to the Supreme Court next vacancy and we can get an actual politician in the Oval Office and Obama can put his mind to use somewhere it's meant to be.

I'll vote Dem until I move back to the US and am in a tax bracket where voting Dem would be bad. Well, then again, the highest tax bracket in Canada is 10% lower than it is in the US, so maybe not.

I want to vote for an emperor. Someone who is evil and enslaves a random minority for a year then flips it to another minority. While the majority is forced to eat peanut butter and eggs while working in south Georgia all year.
