- Gladiator units now have their own specialist and can build the Gladiator School.

The Gladiator units no longer settle in a city as a Military Instructor they settle as a Settled Gladiator which only provides +1 income and +1 exp to melee units.

I know this is an odd request but for the sake of game balance, any chance we could make it impossible to get Gladiators if you've built the Asatru shrine?

It is possible but why?

edit I reduced the exp the gladiator can give and which units can get the exp. If the Asatru shrine is not in your military city then you get no benefit from it.

It just strikes me that between the two things you can get a fairly overwhelming amount of melee exp. Perhaps it's not so bad though.

It was worse before I made the changes ;) which is the reason for the changes. I have some m ore ideas on the specialists but it is not fleshed out yet - everything else upgrades and obsoletes but these don't. This means that the game flow is not quite feeling right. Rather that adding stuff to the specialist I think they should upgrade eg Shaman upgrades to Priest and so on. It would be automatic but would make the immersion a bit better. I'll post my ideas soonish.

I already love it! It can also help us to not only bring more control to the +x to specialist x feature while enabling us to use it more widely on our wonders/buildings.

And I would presume this would require we finally break the specialist barrier which is a huge +++++++++++!
