Can't load a game while in game

I've just started to play again, with all the same mods and expansions as I did before. However I can't load a game while in game anymore. The option just isn't there like I remembered it used to be. There's no option in the menu, ctrl L doesn't work, neither does F12.

Also the game CTD's whenever I try to exit to the main menu from in game. Would these be mod-related problems? I updated them all before I started playing again.

First, verify your game cache (Steam --> Library --> Right-click Sid Meier's Civilization 5--> Properties --> Local Files --> Verify Integrity of Game Cache). If any files are downloaded, repeat this process until there are no more downloads.

If that doesn't help, start a new game with no mods enabled. If this fixes your problem, then one of your mods might not be compatible with the most recent patch.
