Fantasy Turnovia NES

"Sir!," a young soldier came panting up to the operations tent and hastily saluted.
The veteran looked slowly up from maps strewn across a large table, "What is it now, Centurion?"
"Beg pardon, First Spear. Dispatch from command for you, sir."
With exaggerated difficulty, the Primus Pilus lifted himself up from his chair, "Give it here."
"Sir."
"This just arrived?"
"Three minutes ago by runner. From the Mand'alor, himself, addressed specifically to you, sir."
A moment passed.
"Summon the other Centurions."
****

"Gentlemen, we have been ordered to drill along the Elven border. We are to display our organization and unified force to their people. In essence, we are to look shiny and strong. No aggressive action is to be taken in the slightest degree. Make it clear to your men that
any breach of that order will be severely punished. Standard marching will be the most prominent. The combat training will continue out of sight of the Elves. No sense giving any combat patterns away."

"On the contrary," he continued, "the men are to set themselves as examples of friendly neighbors. We, the warriors of Mandalore, will behave like upstanding folk to these foreigners, despite being in the field. As the Elves come to watch us march, we will hand out carved
toys to the children, wink at the pretty girls, and exchange polite waves with the men."

The First Spear shorty finished relaying the message he had recieved. "...these orders are adamant. Questions?"

"Sir?" Prodded the newest Centurion.
"Go ahead."
He cleared his throat, "What of the expansion? Is there news from the other fronts?"
"There is. The beastmen in the south have joined us; they have been equipped with arms and joined our ranks with fervor. All fronts have expanded ahead of schedule. Our people continue to gain ground on this world. Currently, the clan leaders are focused on advancement in every way. We will push ahead to greatness as one."

deadline reached. Shame on those of you who did not send orders.

Jhasturad Orders
I've been AWOL so bank all our jack and pray for favor from the All-Father and forgiveness of our sins and stuff.

I sent a PM exactly on 10 o'clock. I was having internet problems and it wouldn't send before.

I posted shameful orders a minute after the deadline was closed so I accept my fate either way.

Update 4 Year 80

Europe

All mediteranean civilizations have contact with one another. Silesia, K'eltoq, and Regne have contact with one another.

K'eltoq is attacked by the Frost Trolls to the southeast! They slaughter everything they see. [-1 Goblin Division]

The goblin tribes of Regne Starts developing Deer as strategic resource. Their expansion is met with border clashes with both wood elves to the north and the goblin tribes of K'eltoq to the east. No major battles are fought.

Vespiqvon starts the Wzzst Hive, which will be an extremely hard fortress. Contact with wood elves made (grey blob). Contact with Aghstagh's undead to the west made.

Jhasturad banks jack and expands modestly. Aghstagh makes no trespasses over these 20 years.

Silesia Goes on more raids into the wood elf territory to gain enough money to make another division of Faded men. (Maybe you should check the unit list on the 3rd post for more information?). The elves start noticing that their people are being taken from their western border and start gearing to retaliate. Meanwhile, Aghstagh makes it's presence known well as their hordes spill over the border into Silesia slaughering all they see. The division on the border fought valiantly against the undead before it was overcome.[-1 Faded Men Division, -2 Undead division]

Trade breaks down between Euryale and Testonica as Testonica's navy completely crushes that of Euryale's. Testonica secures the islands for themselves and sends an invasion force from Thrace to secure what they can before a counter attack can be mustered. [-1 economy for both, -1 Galley Flotilla for both]

Tortolia

Karr Mepork bunkers down and enjoys a population boom. Reports come in that a few goblin tribes to the north have started unifying under a great chieftain named Krazath. Could this be bad news for Karr Mepork!?

Cahokia fall into a sly ambush, as the catmen destroy an orc division tasked with enslaving them! Expansion is halted in this direction for the time being. Barbarians are also found to the east. These seem to be goblins and humans living in relative harmony together.

Lusakaroon expands borders and economy.

Faeshire expands modestly and banks jack.

Kreszentians has small border skirmishes with the ratmen to the north, and expand eastward.

Asia

Mines of Hrisgard discover Iron and are developing it as a strategic resource (eta 5 turns).

Klthsstkl Starts to lose it's grip on some of it's lands. Seems other Klths are taking advantage of an apparent lack of leadership from Klthsstkl at the moment. The Dark elven tribes to the west have also started to reclaim some of their ancestral lands. [-1 Economy]

Kalvo call to arms their entire draft pool to end their civilization of the Centaur menace! Unknown to them, the Centaurs were preparing their own invasion! The 2 armies meet on the border and an epic battle takes place. Badly outnumbered, the Centaurs are driven back and Kalvo gains ground. Centaur resistance isn't completely shut down, however. Many hit and run raids have been reported [-1 Kalvo Draft pool, + Centaurs in arena battles]

Gardu increase their economy through expansion of farming projects. They invade Gorfangia and are met in the field by the Orcs led by their champion Gorfang. A hard-fought battle takes place and at the end of the day, the battered Minotaur division is forced to flee and regroup. The Orcs end up taking some Minotaur land. [-1 Orc Draft Pool]

Dredgendor Expands quietly. There are reports of dense goblin tribes to the west (Light Grey blob)

R'leyh utterly destroy human resistance with their rather large army of Spy-blasting warriors. Worries of Giant involvement seem to have no bearing, as the Giants seem to remain relatively introverted over these 20 years. [+1 economy]

Ularmti calls to arms their population to attack and enslave the Bee Folk. In battle after battle the Nagas prove to be too hard a foe, and the beefolk are enslaved.

Glorious and Eternal Elven Empire calls to arms 2 divisions of elves and wages holy war against the goblins in korea. The goblins rally together for one huge battle, but are utterly crushed. Progress from that point on is very easy, more goblins are enslaved than ever before [+1 economy, -1 Elven Draft Pool]

Krr organize for the first time in their history and, under the direction of the Spider Queens, launch a war against the Orcish tribes to our north, eating those they conquer on the field. The orcs rally together to try to put up an organized defense against the spider onslaught and are thoroughly slaughtered. The orcs disperse.

Zugurai expands it's borders and economy.

Andea

Shural Start building bridges connecting the trees that the raptorans use as homes. The Human tribes do not reject trade with Shural.

Morthur expands economy and finds iron. Is developing it now.

Treplak expands borders and economy.

Arctica

Iceladon starts developing sapphires and blobs out some more. Ice Dragons have been seen to the north. A design for primitive ships has been made from ice, but these ships will not be able to venture out of freezing waters for long before melting. Perhaps Sapphires will cure this?

Africa

Lashishali finds a vein of rubies. Merwizards have been able to use this to amplify fire magic even under water. It is now being developed. They also start building a great coral reef at the mouth of the mediteranean, in order to extract tariffs on shipping through the lane.

Adengae expand modestly and banks jack.

Mandalore expands it's economy through mining projects and finds a vein of emeralds that they're now developing. They're also building the Great Mandalorian Military Acadamy, which should increase the quality of their armies' leadership when completed. They are raided by the elves to the east, but most of the raids are repulsed before any real damage is done. The envoy that is sent never returns.

Slezkak expands their borders and economy

Tronda increase economy and expand... And maybe get cursed!? Maybe that curse is hostile minotaurs to the east! (represented as grey blob)

Boreala

Elgathon attacks the goblin tribes to the north, destroying the resistance and displacing the tribes they whup the crap out of. The goblins are migrating to the northeast in light of these attacks, but they no longer chop down the treant forests for lumber, having developed a newfound fear for the trees.

If you would, please, add into your orders a grade that you would give this NES so far. This grade is simply 1-5 based on how enjoyable this NES has been so far. If a low grade is given, please give feedback.

A messenger was off from the goblins of the Règne to the goblins of the K'eltoq, offering both condolences for the attack and the messanger gives out the words of the aged Armand the Crow, who still serves as the holder of the title of Leódhatas.

First the goblins of the Règne would offer their neighbours the opportunity to trade with access to the direwolfs of the Règne as a strategic means of helping drag out the trolls.Together our hounds could drive out enemies. It is a shame we have neither the resources for a direwolf pack (or a war galley for that matter) but we hope we can start allow you to develop your own direwolf dens for the benefit of goblinkind.

Second: both our powers need to talk expansion in the short term.

Plans and Expansion.png

Blue area is planned for Règne expansion, dark green is a purposed expansion area for the K'eltoq and cyan is current turn claimants for the Règne.

We feel marking what to claim may disable the possibilities of clashes, while our plans now is to access the rumoured sea to the north which could provide goblinkind new desires. We are prepared to discuses with the K'eltoq. As for the elves we expect them to know their place in light of the glory of goblinkind. We goblins must spread! No elves or troll will hinder the will of the goblins!

The messenger will leave once the response is granted.

All that can be said is that we are in agreement. Your generosity is respect by The K'eltoq. Now we the K'eltoq must deal with the transgressors. The Trolls will suffer our wrath.

The stargazer council advises peace between our people. Expand no further south and we will expand no further north, and as we move (westwards on the Amon Savage map), let us maintain a border at a similar latitude as the one we have across the Nile.

Or else.

Amon,

EDIT: will investing in copper accelerate its arrival?

THE BLESSINGS OF ARMOK
" Councillor Urist is dead, long live Councillor Magder " announced a messenger.

"Grand Councillor" Urist lays dead in his bed, apparently by an illness unkown to the other Dwarves. It seems that he contracted it by the orog tribes, by which he was taken as a slave with the rest of the ambassadors to mine gems found in their caverns. The rest of the Councillors, furious at the Orog tribesmen, and in order to gain prestige within the dwarves, ordered an all out mobilisation and attack against the tribefolk, who they obliterated. However, the ambassadors and Urist all died from this disease. Their bodies were burnt and the ash was scattered in the Overlands, so that the dwarves would not catch the disease. Many years have passed, and no more victims to this disease have appeared.

His place took Councillor Magder. He was a rich dwarf who had gained most of his wealth by taking part in the very first dwarven expeditions to find rubies and iron. An authoritarian character at heart, Magder is looking forward to gaining the power and wealth his predecessor had. And he knew there was only one way to do such a thing. The only possible way for such a thing to happen without massive reaction from the Councillors and the rest of the dwarves required three steps. The first step and most important step was the never - ending pursue for innovative ways to dig out materials from the Earth in faster ways. The second step was the re - organisation of the governing body in order for all dwarves to be able to "vote", such as to be appeased. In truth, the richer the dwarves the more votes they would have, so the already - ruling elite would still have more power than the rest of the dwarves. The third step would be the organisation of a central dwarven treasury, where all the dwarven treasures would be collected and divided according to their owners. These treasures would formally belong to the dwarves, but would be used de - facto by the state in any way they wanted.

However, Councillor Magder knew that doing these steps all at once would bring massive reactions and de - stabilisation to Hrisgard. As such, his first act as a councillor was to propose an act that would both combine the first step but also appease to the common dwarffolk. The dwarves would build a great Manufactory to Armok, the God of Blood. In it, there would huge rooms, as large and wide as the corridors in the Mines themselves, where dwarves could worship their God and where they could also indulge themselves in the acts of manufacturing and crafting. Meanwhile, liquids that looked like blood would be used to make lakes and fountains in order to both appease aesthetically everyone who gazed their eyes on it and to successfully find new compounds and materials that could be used in other sectors, something that Urist had failed to do.

All in all, the years looked promising, and with the blessings of Armok the dwarves would succeed.

Does having iron as a strategic resource move you forward to the Iron age or are there more requirements?

Iron as a strategic resource will move you to the iron age.

...but, bronze is an alloy of copper. You can't have bronze if you don't already have copper!

I realise. The strategic resource is to show an abundance. You may have iron without the strategic resource iron in your country through trade or maybe there is iron but not a vast abundance. Everyone is considered to have bronze unless they're spiders or something, however those with copper as strategic resources would have the ability to use copper and bronze in ways that those that do not cannot. Same with Iron. Some countries won't have access to iron as a strategic resource but may still join those that do in the iron age.

While Grandson of the Sun has shown deep disappointment for R'lyeh's resorting to threats, our Lord is willing for peace as long as our children, who came to us willingly, are not threatened.

"BASTARDS!"

Unpleasant comments ran through the command building at Keldabe.
"Peace, Tribune," the Mand'alor grumbled while focusing intently on the information laid before him.
"My Lord, they attack us without cause. They have no honor!"
"Indeed. These Elves are certainly of a less than noble breeding. Remember that you are not some battle-hungry boy hardly strong enough to handle his weapon.
You would do well to keep your head when considering matters at hand."
"Yes, of course," the Tribune stammered. "My apologies for the outburst, Sire."

"This is an opportunity, my friends. Little damage was done, and we have seen how they fight."
"Their warriors are skilled, but hardly organized," another Tribune chimed in.
"Even still," he murmured, "do not underestimate the enemy. We know little of them. Until we do know more, it must be assumed that they are stronger than they wish to appear." The Mand'alor sighed, "I had hoped to convince them to join us or to leave them in peace. Clearly they desire neither."

"We must attack them at once, Lord, before they have time to prepare."
"I'm certain they are as prepared as they feel they can be by this point." He stood and addressed them directly, "Tribunes!"
The previously busy room snapped to immediate attention.

"Rally our warriors and summon the beastmen. Their act of war will not go unpunished."

The Lalbok Nation

Origin
The furthest anyone seems to know of the Lalbok people is a tale of a great war in the land of the Slezkak civilization. Thought to be the Giant's native land, it was told that a war was fought between the Giants and the Lizardfolk. The Giants, realizing defeat was imminent, fled from their home land to recreate their society in a more secure location, away from the Lizardfolk. Many fled north, creating the Lalbok tribe. Others fled south, and into the mainland, via rivers. This mass migration led to the many Giant societies of the world.

Cities
The oldest, largest, and wealthiest city in the Lalbok lands is the city of Tyros. Tyros serves somewhat as a capital, holding meetings and votes to decide matters within the nation. Sonnar is where the majority of the military is held and commanded from. Lastly, the city of Stos is the largest port, and holds the navy.

Society
The Lalbok people have domesticated animals to do much work for them. Sharks have been trained to catch fish for the Giants. Bears are the most common animal, they do everything from hauling cargo to being used in wars with barbarian tribes. Wolves are seen more as companions, giving a stealthy help in battles or hunting, and at the end of the day coming home to be cared for.

Most Giants are simple farmers, hunters, or other physical works, but a few are devoted to research and advancement of society. Discovering new, more effective ways to farm, build, and prevent disease is what they strive for every day. Most young Lalbok are educated by the elders of their city, telling them stories of their great experiences.

(OOC)
The origin story of the Lalbok has been developed in an attempt to merge with the Adengaean story. The story is assuming the Adengaeans started their religion and wars after the events of the war against the Slezkak.

Very useful, especially for new players! Thank you Dar Kensytus!

Sidenote- Lizardmen (NPC) in sumeria, Dark Elves (Fluffy Cupcake) in Pakistan. That is the only mistake I seen.
