Lots of ideas are here but are all over the place so what do we have so far? I also unique units for America: Abrams Tank

Can we make a spy unit that fights when it gets caught? Like a Ghost Unit.

how about make it so that if the spy mission fails theres a 50% it will commit suicide to avoid capture, if it suceeds the country you attacked doesnt know who it was and no diplomatic -points?

I was thinking that when a Ghost lands on an enemy tile there would be a 30% chance of getting caught, if it does get caught then it would attack the unit like regular combat.

50% chance.

Air Units

Joint Strike Fighter (this is the generic term for next-gen fighters, not specifically American)
Stealth Bomber
Jet Bomber
Jet Fighter
Helicopter Gunship
Air Transport Vessel - can airlift 4 units

Naval Units

Submarine
Destroyer
Frigate
Aircraft Carrier
Cruiser
Amphibious Assault Vessel (Landing Craft)

Missiles

Missiles should have the ability to sink ships, not damage them. Submarines tend to pose the greatest threat to modern-day navies, due to the prevalence of shallow-water naval operations (and the greater stealth capabilities of modern subs). Missiles can wreak havoc on carrier groups if the submarine is not detected early enough. Thus, Submarines should have the ability to carry Missiles, and use them.

bear in mind there will have to a huuuge variation in the quailty of the various units available. Irans two baic 1970's frigates would be eaten alive by any western naval vessel.

not being too patriotic, I have left out plenty of aircraft as there are just so many. As I recall sweden is doing a nice little export trade off'f the back of that paticular aircraft.

I think in future I will do the list so it includes manufacturer & current users.

Right, from now on its going to be thus:

bloody hell that took me 2 hours!

there is an alternative to non buildable thing, for more recent units the player can decide to build more of them however the first unit built of that paticular class will take 5 times the build time what any following unit of the same class would take, this will acurately reflect the real problems and expense of setting up an entire production line\machining parts\r+r & training.

although for all units pre 1990 I feel that they should not be buildable at all, it would be illogical to build 18+ designs if newer ones are available

Ah, classic.

You're doing an excellent job. It's really appreciated. :goodjob: I'll update the OPs and add some better formatting to make them easily legible.
