Hey man, thx again for all the hard work :)
Just wanted to ask if it was intetional that Byazantine can build there "circus" without the Horse or Elephants near the city? Seems like a VERY powerful UB :3 but its fun.
 
OK, so I this is what I have after 2 hours of playing with gimp:

(of course they are ALPHA versions without polishing few details)

Moroccan Riad, second version



Korean Seowon - And yes, I know what's problem here, there are as many trees hare as school buildings :p But this is made from the only one nice looking picture of Seowon I have found - all others are either ugly or show Seowon as 'generic Asian building with this cool roof :p' Personally I prefer this red image of unique Korean school somewhere in the forests (?) than some boring 'yet another brown pagoda' stuff - and this is what all other seowon pictures looked like :D



Netherland Waag, remade a bit but I don't know if enough - to be honest I have here little problems with blending sunburst, I will try more ;)



Mongolian Ger - to be honest this one was astonishing: I expected some problems with seeking good picture of Mongolian 'tent', while after writing 'ger' in google the first image found was perfect :D
Originally there was blue sky here, but it looked kinda boring, lame and not Mongolian - this one IMHO fits Mongolia a bit better.



Mayan Ballcourt, I found perfect image for that (also fits Mayan colours nice) which of these two is better? ;)



Carthago Cothon - yeah I know something is wrong in the right part of the round, I will repair this detail later :p

And couldn't you use the Ottoman Bathhouse from the Scramble fro Africa scenario for the Riad?
 
1)About Cothon and Ballcourt - it is really really hard to find images of those buildings alone, not even mention Civ5 style :D Although I am happy you like Waag and Riad. To sum up, what should I send to you? And in how many sizes?

2) That Saloon is perfect. For the Salon I'd go with the first. Let's first end the buildings art, then we'll go for the units, if that's okay with you. That Dojo would look amazing! The Stave Church icon is from Firaxis.
3) Could you send me the texture you used on your Ger? I worked around with the Ger that JFD shared and that touch is what's missing.

Nope, on Gimp...

So, I will send you Waag, Riad, Ger (currently I have all of it only in 256 size - send it? :p). Are you going to make Saloon icon alone? (to be honest this image is so awesome that it requires almost no editing :D ) And, purely because of curiosity, which Dojo are you going to use? ;)

Texture... You mean this? http://goo.gl/1kRu94 'Brown Sunburst' in google :D I am happy that JFD's Ger - obviously better - will have this brown mongolian colour instead of purple (?!) or boring blue sky ;)

Yeah of course, some of the icons in use came from there. I'm not seeing one resembling a Cothon. I thought that that Horse Archer was in use, now it will be. For the Assyrian Royal Guard I don't like any of the options.

For the Playhouse if it was the interior of one it would be perfect. Perhaps replacing it with just someone writing doesn't really fulfill the idea of the Playhouse.

About the Seowon, I think it was edited, have to check that out...

Did you ever determine what you were doing with Ethiopia?

I remember suggesting the churches of lalibela as a Grand Temple replacement. The front page hasn't been updated so I'm not sure what's actually finished at this moment. Also, great to see you working on this mod again.

I use layers although in general I use gimp in a bit chaotic manner so probably I screwed something up...

Second row, first icon on the left - not exactly cothon but IMHO it could fit.

Yeah, it looks very familiar but this is a horse from Companion Cavalry with some mongol - looking archer I cannot identify. I think it can be good as Babylonian.

Saloon - I am proud of finding this masterpiece :p very good
Iroquis - very nice, still not exactly Firaxis style but much better than anything I would create :D I like it. Although, maybe change background colour for this Iroquis grey?... I am not sure here.

OK, in the spoilers below I will put my thoughts about gameplay abilities of all those uniques (I checked all of them in game).

Firstly, all uniques which are imho perfect :)

Mounted Bowman - bonus vs cavalry and free movement on rough terrain, I like it! :)
Carpentom -bonus vs ranged :D also cool
Eagle - whoever invented Blue Hummingbird is genius, extremelt interesting idea and unit.
Clibanarii - I like strong cavalry :)
Teuton - the same as with Clibanarii
Prowler - how exactly invisibility works? BTW, awesome unit :D
Landwehr - OK
Sepoy - OK
Khopesh - very cool, I would say it is a bit OP but overpowered version of underpowered swordsmen = perfect balance :D
Chasqui - Andean scout building roads. I love this idea, I am only not sure if 4 movement on hills isn't too much :0
Cetbang - yeah I know it is on drawing board, but already: bonus versus city states is IMHO stupid, because almost nobody fights them :D
In my opinion, bonus vs all CITIES would be more historical and useful here ;) Also, if you lack ship 3D model you could ask Leugi - he is in team which creates Indian Civs Pack, and one of the uniques here is Indian Warship (?) with its own model, maybe it could fit for Cetbang?
Dojo - very good
Fish Pond - perfect for Polynesia
Portugal one - perfect for Portugal
Saloon, Salon - very good
Sofa - OK, although it is uncompatible with Mali Civilisation Mod, maybe it is possible to fix it? ;p
Riad, Turkish Baths - ok but maybe it would be possible to invent something unique here ;)
Playhouse, Sambadrome, Kraal, Sala - cool
Ethiopian - OK, though I guess it won't be compatible with Lalibela Wonder mod


Below there are 14 uniques which: don't work or I have my suggestions and ideas about some of them (few may require a piece of lua, although not really difficult)

Uhlan - currently it is broken a bit, I mean it has a bonus against MELEE. You know what the most advanced MELEE unit is? Longswordsman :D
Later there are GUN units and I am pretty sure Uhlan should have bonus against them (maybe add something against ranged as well?)

Royal Guard - I have an idea here, which would require a piece of lua. You know, Assyria was first ever really agressive, expansionist empire - the first which started 'capturing capitals'
(Thebes, Jerusalem, Babylon), in the same time it is interesting because managed to come back after fall of Nineveh. I think it could be reflected in ability like this:
'Has bonus when fighting close to capital... Of Assyria OR OTHER CIVILISATIONS!' The second part is reverted 'capital defense' :) It would have more flavour and offer more strategy during defense or attack.

Seowon - currently this building is exactly same as the university :D (my only idea: because Seowon were creating Korean elites, maybe specialist working in it should give additional production? )

Canals - very nice idea, my only suggestion is to increase merchant point to 2

Roman Market - I don't get what's unique here

Stave Church - well, currently it costs no maintenance and gives +1 faith? In my opinion, a bit more unique and fitting to SC would be: -50% production cost and no maintenance/maybe engineer slot?

Cothon - seaport with 2 additional gold for city connections and 2 additional defense points - I think that's a bit weak, but I have no idea here :D

Tipi - ...yeah, did you mean that Shoshone will have Tipi improvement from new world deluxe?

Hippodrome - current version is very nice, although maybe it would be possible to put faith bonus here?...

Ger - the concept of Ger is very nice. However, I see that you still have no idea for Unique Building for Huns, and frankly Huns have no architecture other than tents :p In my opinion, Ger/Yurt should go to Huns, because
they are all about extremely early rush and they usually have no time for building shrines and barracks - Ger would perfectly suit here.
Now appears problem for Mongolian UB :D but Mongolian architecture exists http://goo.gl/W7uidB and also one important fact: Mongolia shouldn't get Ger because in 3rd component world it would be the only nation which has absolutely no peaceful bonus (even Zulu get Kraal - on the other hand, Huns still have +1 production from pastures bonus, so Mongolia would be really alone pure warmonger). EDIT - what if Shoshone Tipi from the Deluxe could be reskinned and used as Mongol Ger Unique Improvement?

OK. Now we have Viking Longhouse, Agora, Ballcourt, Madrasah and Waag. Longhouse, Agora and Ballcourt seem underpowered for me, Waag is a rip off from Bazaar, Madrasah is nice but a bit bland.
Instead, I have group idea for all these buildings... You see, in communitas mod exists lua code which causes 'after building Papermaker you receive X science points', and the same with Greek Agora and culture. Personally I am not very good with lua, but we already have perfect code example, and I think creating UBs with science/faith/gold/culture/golden age points? boost is entirely possible
My ideas:

Waag - netherlands receives gold boost after building each waag - it would perfectly show, you know, financial power of renaissance banks, credits and so on - climatic for Netherlands

Longhouse - denmark receives golden age boost after building longhouse - you know, fame of Vikings expands, more and more people know about victorious conquest! Also, it would perfectly reflect Vikings' peak of power :)

Agora - greece receives culture boost - hey, where democracy appeared? :) Also, Greece has early strong unique units, and it could get more culture during its early conquests (maybe take partonage to deal with city states even better?...)

Madrasah/Ballcourt - they receive science/faith boost (eventually it could be Ballcourt=golden age Madrasah=faith Longhouse=science and this would also fit very nice for gameplay and immersion, with possible exception of scientific longhouse (but hey, all those stories told in the longhouse spread knowledge! Knowledge about new ideas and technologies!)


In general, this mod can be awesome :D

French Salon - I don't know what do you exactly want, but I created something civ - style, it was extremely easy one


'Celtic Chariot', I hope it will be accepted because it cost me much time - Maybe someone more experienced can improve it. Oh my god, that goddamn wheel, I hate it. I had so many problems with it... You see, the down part of original wheel is unusually bright due to mist (?) and it looked awful, so I decided to recolour it. Manually. The result is... still better than two colour wheel but not satisfying for me. I count on someone improving it or simply getting rid of 'outside' part of the Evil Wheel :D


Sepoy - I experimented with light, could be better ;D

First, the icons.
I don't really like those unit icons. To improve your sunburst effect you should check some icon templates here in the forum. I believe they are in psd. You should try and layering stuff, if you want that way I can add the sunburst effect or any other detail, like some pieces coming out of the icon.
About those Kwadjh icons, I'm not really seeing those suggestions as fit.
I'll try and improve my Forest Prowler icon, messed up with his head... will also try to separate the pic from the background to add shadow and sunburst or other details.

Now the gameplay
About compatibility, this mod shouldn't clash with the Mali and Lalibela wonder, I chaged the names of the uniques so they won't clash.

About the invisibility of the Prowler it works fine, they are not completely invisible but they can surprise and ambush you effectively enough which was the intended purpose.
Regarding the Chasqui I noticed there's no animation when road building, will have to check that out.
For the Cetbang that's a good idea and easier to implement

The Uhlan, gun units either are melee or artillery, this unit shouldn't have bonus against artillery, from what I read those were their biggest opponents and that ultimately caused their elimination, but they exceled in charging against infantry units, that's what I wanted to represent. However they are listed for review so I'llk have to dig deeper and check them out better.

The Royal Guard, that's an interesting suggestion, will check it out

The Seowon, also listed for review, I was actually sure I had already edited it apparently not, I'll have to check my notes, or some old discussion here to see what I had planned for them.

Yeah, I also don't like those unit icons :D Creating icons was generally fun and I am glad that at least one my icon is well received ;) but I enjoy coding much more (currently I know XML/SQL, I streted learning lua). To be honest I doubt in my abilities of making High Quality Unit Icons (buildings are much easier) so I would rather leave those here, if someone wants he can download them and improve.
However, what do you think about Cetbang Ship excluding this ugly 'sunburst'? :p This is my only unit icon which I like, created from cetbang image, sea beggar icon and great galleas icon. Only this goddamn light and sunburst! Do you think this icon could be good after improving sunburst, or not? ;)

UHLAN - I already tested it, and yes, it has NO BONUS against anything from its era - only against longswordsmen/sworsmen/pikemen and so on! MELEE units are before musketman, later we have GUN class. Yeah, silly :p

PROWLER - I mean, how exactly invisibility work? There is percent chance that they disappear in forest, or they are always invisidible while in forest/jungle until being close to enemy? I am interested in this cool ability ;)

SEOWON - I checked it, in the description there is said that it gives culture, but it doesn't. Also even if it would give it, this is the same ability as Wat one... What do you think about my idea with specialists? ;)

I am happy that you like my suggestions for Royal Guard and Cetbang, these two seemed the weakest UUs for me.

I guess you have not enough time to answering on all suggestion, but I am wondering what do you think about 'communitas building lua script' and Mongol - Hun Unique Building Problem ;)
Still, I am going to experiment with this lua. And I am interested in balancing/testing this mod ;)

Canals, considering Venice is OCC it shouldn't do harm, I'll increase it

Forum, an extra specialist and a 15% contribution towards great people

Stave Church, didn't went far with this, is exactly the same as presented by Firaxis, however, as discussed through out the thread, this unique should be replaced, just haven't looked to it yet

Cothon, I believe it's fairly balanced

Tipi, yes that's it

Hippodrome, something to consider, but I feel that a bonus in faith might overpower it

Ger, I actually though in using Yurt as Hunnic improvement. But can't see why could't both coexist, I've no other idea regarding Mongolia.

About the Viking Longhouse, I was considering revamping the Stave Church, make it Dannish, and get something else for the Sweden

About that code, it seems a great idea. In my opinion, Agora - culture, Ballcourt - golden age points, Madrasah - faith.

Yeah I'm not happy with the Waag, I was having trouble something that would suite Netherlands. Maybe I'll search for something else, if I can't find anything then we'll go with that.

The invisibility is triggered when the Prowler enters a forest tile, it is invisible, and unless you're paying attention you won't notice them, but if they move they'll be seen, it's something like that, there're some restrictions, but I think it works as intended

Seowon, in that case I'll add the extra stuff for the specialists.

Eventually replace current bonus (or part of it) with +faith. It adds culture, if I remember correctly? Usually people on CFC complain on lack of +faith for Byzantium :p

I checked this communitas code and it works (in communitas) for faith, culture, science and golden age boost, probably also for gold ;) I will try testing it with some random building (who knows, maybe communitas mod alone has something which makes this script able to work? I am simply astnished by the fact that Instant Yield exist in XML and nobody used it before ;o)

Although I will already ask about AI... How AI detects Prowler, and can it use it? (I mean, it seems to be ranged unit instead of gun original - what if AI would try capturing cities with it? :( )

In the meantime I am also testing my giant great people pack and out of ~200 great people, 29 aren't working so I will sit in XML with this as well as with Instant Yield :p
