[Religion and Revolution]: Interesting Graphics / Features we might use

I have to say, I am not too keen on the idea of introducing a Pacific/Polynesia/Maori civilization unless the Mod leans towards the colonization of the Americas and the Pacific. Sorry.:(

Yes they are all used or will probably be used in Release 2. :)

You will find a heavily modified version of TAC.
It is totally unbalanced and not bugfree.
We used this in our first days to discuss and experiment.

However it does also contain many things around Economy that will probably be used in Release 2.

Many things we (or others) have created are not yet integrated into our "mainline".
(Usually because of balancing or quality reasons.)
 
UnitGraphics (not BonusGraphics) for a Bison. :)
(But it is a Civ3 unit, so I do not know if it can be converted / used for CivCol. :dunno:)

It is not really necessary, we us it, I just think it is a great piece of work. :thumbsup:

Theoretically, when we have Wild Animals, that Unit could be considered to be used ...
... but we already have the Bonus Bisons.
(So it would probably not make sense. :dunno:)

Also, I once created a "Hunting"-concept, which I gave up ...

So again, I just stumbled across that graphic and thought is was a great piece of work. :)
 
On the other hand, it looks a lot better for the Bonus graphics to be animated. I don't know how to import Civ3 units, but would be cool if we could.

Don't totally give up on your hunting concept Ray.. I thought Androrc still planned to include an Animals feature where killing an animal could create a small amount of yield such as Furs and/or Food in your nearby colony.

(Your greate efforts should be rewarded by having this already in Release 1 to my opinion. :) )
 
Very nice.
Now we only need to create a good feature to introduce this new unit ingame.
Since we are now having all military be professions rather than units, it would seem odd for this to be a military unit that cannot do any other work. I don't know, maybe it could get some modest bonus to Fur production, plus attack bonus vs Animals and bonus in forests/hills when in combat? But maybe you have some more interesting ideas for it?

As it is, it seems far too easy to reveal almost the entire map within a short time, often needing just one Scout set on autoexplore, especially after getting the two scout promotions. (this is an issue with the vanilla game). The need to escort treasures improves this a little, but maybe some hostile Animals in release 2 should really help.
 
I uploaded a few good building nifs I found to the transfer/Buildings folder on SVN. The one I thought would be particularly cool for this mod is the nif for a Mission. Do you think we could make it so that when a Mission is created in game it creates a placeholder BUILDING_MISSION in that settlement which has this graphic? Then you would actually see a realistic mission in the village instead of only the cross icon! :cool: This could be for Release 2 though, to go with the religion modding.
