SevoMod 3

any tips on how to extract the files? as mentioned my 7-zip doesnt really work, starts out fine but later I get toons of error messages.

Using winrar never workes for me, plz tell me how to use winrar to open this file?

Well, I am super impressed now with all the work. But now like my fears before are game balance issues. With all the new additions of units along with Lost Units, how in the world will there be enough play testing to be able to compare to vanilla civ and its original balance? It will be hard to know which units are under powered and which units are over powered when too many are going in at one given time, along with making some units redundant..

Awesome work!

Couple problems so far:

When I click on techs to research, they don't show as clicked. Meaning the button just stays the same but I'm still able to research the tech.

Whenever I open a city screen, it slows down, get's choppy. This doesn't happen with regular civ4.

Thanks again & good luck on the bug squashin'. :goodjob:

Edit: I'm not using any other mods or customizations.

Choppy civ screen is something that I forgot to mention in my last post. Consider this issue confirmed

I noticed that some of the new civilization's traits are shown twice, namely seafaring is shown twice with a couple civs. Is this a glitch or are these specific civs really, really proficient at seafaring?;)

My understanding is, when it comes to Seafaring, that because there are several bonuses, a display problem (or worse, a coding problem :S) prevented Sevo from lumping them together.

As a result, in order for a Seafaring Civ to have all of the traits that it should (or at least for them all to display as they should), every Seafaring civ has both Seafaring (with most of the bonuses) and "Seafaring (More)" (with the rest).

Hope this clarifies that.

first of the errors, im missing the culture bar..it doesnt show me, like in the sevo2.3 mod how many turns to next culture.

2nd on the right lower side, i see the other computerplayers with their points..dont really need to see that in cityview

3rd, can confirm the cityscreen is slow

4the nationality(as showed in the screenshot) of the city is 100% dutch. right side of the bar there is a small window with detailed info? im not sure what is the use of it, but it first opens after moving with my mouse of the nationalitybar, and it doesnt seem to go away..it pops up by moving, and then it stays there...even after exiting city and reentering city view.

so i come to the piont I must through some area..there is only 1 way, all the rest are areas of opponents, i must declare war to get through, or get a passage agreement(in the beginning of the game is is impossible). and on the only way through, there is hiram with his unit. so i move over him, and it askes me if I want war with him? i say no, then my unit just moves on the same tile as him.

is this correct? because i thought this was a act of war in sevo 2.3? or is it some change?

Sevo - great work. A number of mods have been updated with the new patch, but this is the one i've enjoyed the most so far.

One thing I noticed though was that my specialist bar doesn't come up in the city screen. And like Dzhel said, when I enter the scrren it gets choppy. Look at mrgenie's screenshot of his city, that's exactly what I see. You get the scores of the different players on top of your specialists and there isn't a meter letting you know how far a long you are and what you're likely to spit out.

But well done on getting this out. I look forward to 3.0.

I get lotsof messages about 119 add to cities, some of players i even haven't met with. I assume these are production points they get from forrest chopping, since the computer build wonders at a 4times rate i'm doing.
but the funny thing is, i get 0,0 from forrest..

im not sure if the 119 is the forrest extras of the computer, and im not sure if the 0 i get is ment to be..but..looks wierd to me? :)

Bug update:

In the military advisor screen, I click on a type of unit and the whole list disappears. I'm not able to take any action through this advisor.

I also get that "119 added to (city)" sometimes too. I'm not sure what it is and I'm not removing any forests.

Also missing the culture bar like's been said above.

Ok, I downloaded it and played it. I LOVE it - where do I send my PayPal payment to you? No, really.

Yes yes, I know you did this because you love the game and to mod it, but seriously, I want to send you some money for it. It's THAT good.

Your wife and kids deserve to be taken out to dinner for the effort and long nights you out into this.

If you don't want the money, collect it any way and give it to your favorite charity.

Just wanted to confirm two issues while adding my praise.

The city screen issue is a biggie for me. It REALLY slows down. I just upgraded my PC to SLI, with an ABIT A8N-32X mobo, an AMD Athlon 64 2X 4200+ CPU and two eVga 7600 GT cards (SLI enabled). Plus, I've got 3 gig of RAM. So, the machine now flies in regular Civ$, but slows to a crawl entering the city screen.

I also get that curious "119 added" event.

Thanks again.

Sevo,

Great mod! But I am crashing around 70 turns or so. Has happen twice so far. I'm also getting the "119 added to ........" It wasn't one of my cities (was playing the Iroquois and the city was Istanbul).

Keep up the good work!
