Need help with adding new civ mods

Hey, I just tried adding the new civ Nazca. I downloaded the mod and activate it in game. In the mod tab it shows a green tick showing that the mod is active. But when I go create a new game, I dont see the new civ anywhere? What could be the problem?

Are you creating the new game by proceeding forward through the Mods menu to start a new single player game, or are you trying to do it from the main menu?
