Gulf War Mod

Those flags look great. Go for it. I thought I'd give you an update on what I've been doing check out a few screenies of some my new creations.

what do we plan on doing for the custum art u made for sam, marines etc? are we gonna do uu? cuz for those i beleive unique art style is better
 
I think that some should me artstyle and some should be UU. Many units have special names should be the Uniques (Royal Marines, 21st Infantry Division). The others such as SAM, Machine Gun, or AT infantry could prob be just artstyles.

I'm gonna post a list of the units I think each country should have. Should I or have you done the research already? Then maybe you could do some skinning if you deem appropriate.

Tech trees are really not my thing. If you can give me an empty mod (like all nonimportant units beuildings etc removed) with just teh tech tree and no xml errors, and give me what you want me to add, i can do all of that, then i can do flags, as well as scavaging from other mods to see what i can add
 
OK. I think that we should work from my upcoming IIW update. It has probabaly half of what we need in it already with my new additions.

I'm kind of getting tired of working on it (my update) so I think I'll just release it shortly. Then you can work from it. OK?

OK. My IIW update is done. I will upload it shortly to atomic gamer and then send you the link. Here are some of the new units that we can use as well.

OK, we can start then. Many of the units/buildings/sdk/python parts we need are in the IIW Mod, so maybe we can start from it and add/delete/modfiy. Here's what I think we have decided so far:

Map: Stolenrays (most of Iraq, Western Gulf?)
Buildings: TTT & IIW/Kuwait Mods & More?
Units: TTT & IIW/Kuwait Mods & More?
XML: Dacubz/Stolenrays
Skinning: Dacubz/Stolenrays
Events: Stolenrays
Techs: Stolenrays
Flags: Dacubz
Civs: Multiple Civs that are on the same Coalition team and Iraq, Turkey, Iran, possibly more.
Wonder Movies: Dacubz

I think we should start by deciding which Civs should be in the game, which is also kind of dependant on how big the map is. Any square preference? Then go from there.

I found this list of civs.. I don't think we should use civs that supplied 1 ship or something. You can decide which we should use if you'd like.
 
As for civs, im one that beleives the more the marrier as long as it doesn't get to high (id rather have 30 then 15, but not 50 then 30). To make it realistic for something like Poland you can leave them out, but figure out where their medical ship was (or just guess if you cant figure it out) and then just label it the name of the ship and put "Polish" before it.

It did say Czechoslovakia and romania provided chemical warfare specialists, are you aware of what this is? Im sure i can guess but im not 100% sure. This intrigues me because i planned on asking you a favor, if you can make me a WW1 gas grenader, basically a marine with a grenade that releases green gas when it fights. And this could probably be used as a chemical warfare speciallist
 
For the other things, skinning I can usually only do plains as im not really good at detail, I can definatly help with techs if you want

Also for buildings and units, anything we take from TTT or another mod i can transfer over, im pretty good at finding units/buildings, i got most big mods dowloaded and a folder on my desktop of their unpaked art, so it saves me some time
 
OK, I will work on skinning of units and any buildings. I think that the chemical warfare specialists were merely Logistical Hazmat teams and not offensive military units.

How do you want to keep track of changes and make sure data isn't lost? I said that I have a spreadsheet/word .doc to keep track of to do lists, etc. I will post that shortly for ya if you'd like then we could just update it. How did you do it with your other projects. Did you use a SVN repository?

I'm gonna start working on which units we need for which civs and then post them. That will help you try and find the missing units or needed skins. BTW I have some units that are unreleased still that can be for this mod. A few new ships and some new fighter skins.

THe civs sound fine.
 
Flags could be made. I guess if you have the IIW Mod you could start changing the name of the civs.

alright will do, and the flags are all made since most of the civs are already in my mod (I borrowed your civs from IIW, and I have 90 some more from the world so id imagine i have all of them). What are we gonna call the mod?
 
Gulf War Mod is one suggestions. Short and simple. Here is the spreadsheet in excel format. Most of the units are in our mods I think. If you can find some of the units not in our mods I would say just color those blocks a new color.

BTW, did you know that 7zip reduces compression down 33% from winrar? Just started using it.
